Depends on what you do, your ability level, and preference. I'm 5'11" and ski 172's but just out of preference because my ability level should suggest I ski more like a 180-185. As long as you get done what you need, you're fine
Thanks man, +k. I'm really just getting rails and flips down this year, and I've been hitting kickers up to 80 feet for like 7 years now. I was up at my ski hill yesterday though, and this kid that was probably 5'10 was riding the 162s in my same skis and it looked so much easier to maneuver.
Its all preference. You just need to try some longer sticks. If they dont work out you can go to smaller ones. There are recommendations but if it feels good to your ability then use whatever size feels comfortable. There are some pros who use shorter skis and some who use longer. Just preference.
What's really damn funny about this was how long it took people to notice that this was obviously a troll comment. Solid 10/10 for you sir. that was so worth my time.
I'm 6' and ride a 176 stepup. Generally as long as they don't dip below eye level standing next to you then you're bitch free. If they're taller than you then they're at a somewhat decent fit.
Really: shorter skis = spin faster, swap faster, lighter, etc.
longer skis = ride faster, more stable, more opportunity
I'm about your height and I'm on the same skis but the 159's and they're pretty short... I prefer smaller skis but I would much rather go with a 166-169.
also something you gotta consider is that cause of the rocker on the K2 press it will feel shorter and easier to control than a traditionally cambered ski, so you could afford to go longer.
id say they're perfect for you. im the same height and im riding the 169 domains. i think if its as tall as you then its perfect..but it all depends on preference
well i'm 6'2" ish and ride 178 Line Blends as my one ski quiver on an east coast style hill so mostly park and it seems about right for me. but when i'm in the mountains skiing deeper snow i could go for a little bit longer of a ski.
I'm 5'8 and rode the same size Blends for park so that shows how much variety there is. It's just personal preference.
I would say the same height as you are in boots is a good target personally.
Ride whatever you feel comfortable with. If what you have feels natural to you then dont change it for sure, 169 definitely isn't too big for you. I'm 6'2" riding 182s
