K2 recoil, good or bad?

I'm looking at the 2012 one in 164, I'm 5 ft 10in. Ride park, do 3's and such but still love doing trees and all mountain

im 5'10 and 179 is perfect. if you do go shorter, get 174 at the lowest

I'm your height and ride the 179's at center mount. These skis tear it up all over the mountain. Very stompy, loaded with pop and blow through crud like none other. After they broke in for me (about 30 days skiing), I settled into the flex pattern and really enjoy them.

Very good!
I have ridden these skis in and out of the park, through crud and on ice, and they handled solidly and very well in all situations. The edge hold is better than any other park ski I have ridden, and they are very stable at high speeds. I was told they would lose stability at speed because of the small amount of rocker (2mm x 15cm in tip and tail), but that wasn't a problem. Stability is excellent, and turns initiate with even a gentile move. Also, the skis are very stable on landings and have a low swing weight in the air, even though it is on the heavier side for a park ski. On boxes and rails, it is easy to do spins on and off, and it is easy to do swaps or 4 off a 2 foot high rail. Overall, a great all-purpose ski that will perform well in and out of the park.
It is slightly heavier, but worth it for the durability

They suck at first, they're amazing when you learn how to ski them. I demoed the 2014s yesterday and today. Each day, couldn't make them turn the first run. When I got to know them better they were amazing. Making them turn requires being really aggressive and making pretty short radius turns, otherwise they will resist the turn. But if you ski them like they're meant to be skied, they're amazing. They're light and nice in the air too. I'm not a park skier and didn't try them in the park, just carving, jumping ridges, spinning on the snow and off a ridge. They also fly over crud effortlessly as if it's not there. I'm pretty in love with them.

Oh, and I should add that I'd recommend the 179. They're 30% rocker so they feel shorter.

Sadly Evo and o2 Gear shop, the two places that have the recoils for a deal (220$) dont carry them any longer then 164. What should i do?

Spedn the extra or go shorter?

Or are there any different skis that are much alike the Recoils and same proce range

Great ski like everyone has all ready said. But definitely get the 179s. I am 3 inches shorter than you and I ride a 172.

My brother just bought the revivals (old recoil, flat underfoot) for next year. Anybody with reviews of that ski? He is coming off of domains that he broke. He is 5'8", 110 lbs and got the 174. He loved the domains.

The 2013 Iron maidens are the same as recoils right? If so then my answer will be relevant.

I've been riding them for 3 days now and absolutely love them. Very stable, nicely stiff, poppy and very nice to land with. I'm 5'4 and ride the 169s and they fit me perfect, so you are pretty much ten cm's taller than me so 179 would be ideal for you.

I found mine really heavy, if you don't mind the weight go for it. They have a great flex with unbelievable durability though.

I picked up a pair of Head Oblivions at a ski shop and they were the lightest ski I picked up, seemed to have a good flex to butter but still stomp big jumps. Not sure about durability though they have a gloss topsheet so it might be easy to chip but have a look at them.

oh and to contribute,

good ski very stable on jumps but a bit stiff
I like them I would recomend them

I just got it this season and it seems pretty good. Sometimes its a little hard to start a turn and they are pretty heavy. Overall, pretty good ski
