Some hippy ass school with skiing all day and no homework sounds chill as fuck to me. Are you legit good though? Cause if you're not sort of close to getting sponsors and shit now you might never be there is a cream of the crop in this sport that is near impossible to break into if you are not a child prodigy.
I went to hard ass schools and a good college my whole life, as did many people who end up as ski bums (I'm not one) if you know you'll be working on mountains forever then why not go to a ski heavy school instead of that shit? The connections and friends you make should help you as you go along.
To OP- a big part about accomplishing something in life that is different and non-mainstream is you have to ignore everyone's shitty advice. You won't get anywhere if you listen to the usual crap advice people give (unless your goals are conventional.)
Everyone I know (especially relatives) told me I was a fucking moron for starting my business and going after my goals but I ignored all of them and have spent the last few months shredding powder in Tahoe and CO and golfing in Arizona. I'll also be buying a boat to go tuna fishing on when I return to MA this summer. So basically they can all suck it since I was right they were wrong.
