I go to a semi - target school and am still in undergrad. Going to graduate december, 2013. Have a pretty good GPA right now (3.27) but nothing to special. I actually got these internships through my school recruiting, these companies recruit from my school. So I just got to the informational meetings, spit work fire at the HR people and junior analysts who come. Just kinda showing my personality and why I could succeed. Get business card. Follow up with email. Then its standard interview process where you just have to differentiate yourself from everyone and show them why your better them everyone else.
I was a top 10 recruit in the NYC area just becuase I have really strong networking and interviewing skills. Was the lowest GPA they took out of all the interns.
No other qualifications besides an internship at Morgan STanley last summer in wealth management which helped me a lot.
Finance isnt for everyone, very competitive, long hours, but the pay is good and good career paths if your good at it. Give it a try before you talk shit about it. You have an MBA so if you get strong grades try to get some internships and figure it out. IBanking is the cream of the crop, but extremely hard to break into. Good luck man
