whistler new paint on rails....

Park Update: November 4, 2004
Riding Artwork


The new custom Westbeach rails are complete and are now painted. Graffiti artist Clayton Needham was brought in by Westbeach to create some custom work on the new narrow down box and kink rail. Clayton took two days and several spray paint cans to complete his one of a kind paintings on each rail. Clayton completed his artwork just in time before the snow started to fly. Rail shots were taken on Nov 2 after we received 23 cms of snow right down to the valley.

All completed rails are now being moved up hill and transport at this time of the year can be challenging, involving chains and slow drives up and down on our Uni mog.

^ Then they put the ugliest paint job done ever on the rails. It looks like a 5 year old tried painting over it in blue, and then painted some haggard ass white stripe down the side.

As for ''graf'' on rails, well that's fine, if they get someone who gonna be up there in the winter, fine. Some whistler writers or something, like Skull Boy, or that toy Honer. But a ''graffiti mural''on a rail? Bah! May impress the tourists looking over the fence, but it looks like kitschy shity.

They should paint everything white, so its a CAMO rail. SNOW CAMO to be exact, and everyone would crash into it. That'd be one cool paint job.

yeh it looks awesome - im a bit trivial on them painting the tops of the boxes though - seems to me they wont slide very well for the first few days
