Frist season: Revelstoke or Fernie

Hey ns. I'm hoping to do a season in BC for 2013/2014. I've only 2 weeks of skiing in the French alps but am looking to progress a lot over a season.

I have a few questions. Revelstoke seems to have to have some great terrain. Would you be able to take advantage of this on a first season? I've heard jobs can be hard to come by in Revelsoke, if you persists what are your prospects of getting a job?

Fernie seems have better nightlife and better job prospects and seems to be the safer option. What is the skiing like there? I heard it can rain more often and some of the bowls close due to avy risk.

I am more about the skiing that the partying but some nightlife would be nice.

So Revelstoke or Fernie?

Any info would be great. Thanks.

You can't go wrong with either, both have awesome qualitys that can be compared to one another. However, out of the two if I had to pick, I'd pick Revelstoke, tons of terrain and just a sick place in general. Fernie is also sick, and has a rail park if you wanna keep that in mind.

i hear revelstoke is great!i have never been however. Seems really nice. You just have to pray that therll be some pow!

I'm leaning toward Revelstoke myself. Does anybody know what the job situation was like in Revelstoke this season?

Just FYI - we got a rail line in Revelstoke this season as well. It's not extensive, but there are four S-M features at the bottom of the hill, available during the day and for night skiing. Should scratch that jibbing itch. Seasonal jobs on-mountain are usually posted around August, but keep your eye on the website for more details. Jobs are also available at the Sutton Place Hotel, Rockford and Wino at the base of the resort. There are quite a lot of hospitality positions going in town, but not much in other industries. It really depends on getting here early (October-ish) to guarantee finding a place to live and a paycheque for the season. Good luck!

Fernie is sick and it is very easy to find jobs, the rail park sucks but you don't go to Fernie to ski park. It can rain but it's rare and never really a problem as the resort doesn't need much snow to recover. The powder is some of the sickest in the world and gets crazy deep and if you know were to look you can find it weeks after a snow fall. We got 1 meter in 2 days last year, literally best day of my life hands down.

Vid from last years 1 meter snowfall, not me obviously.

based on the fact that you've only skied two weeks (unless I read that wrong) id say go with Fernie. the terrarin is still really sick but deff easier to manage. can't go wrong with either option really.
