mono sucks

First year, got mono. It blows. I can barely swallow and i'm always tired and i'm supposed to stay hydrated with a super swollen throat. Who else has gotten mono.

you can stay hydrated by soaking in water. your skin absorbes some water thus keeping you refreshed

I had mono last year, and i must have gotten a really mild case of it. I was slightly tired (going to bed early and stuff) but i was still going on fairly long mountain biking trips. Then when i went in for my physical they suggested i get tested for mono, and i had it.

So it wasn't bad at all for me.

that sucks justin... I guess thats what happens when your a huge whore... I got off easy with my horrishness, I only had strept throat and tonsolitis - at the same time. You arnt going to miss any skiing cause of this are you? cause that wouldnt be good at all... A broken collar bone to end last season and mono to start this season. I hope, for your sake, that this isnt the begining of a tradition.

YEa drink orange juice with sprite sounds gross but i promise its so good and feels better on ur throat and stomach!! Take baths not showers and just chill bra i had it and its goin to hang on for a while even when the virus is gone you will still be tired as shit!!




Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

well, the last three nights in the hospital were fun. Actually, they were, because i didn't hurt and what not because of all the IVs and injections and the oxygnen.

i had viral menengitis.....that lasted for about 3 weeks before i feltgood enough to go back to school...i got headaches for sooo long...i guess it causes brain damage quite frequently...maybe tahts why im always ont he golden wheelchair

two of my friends got mono. long story short one of them rested and did everything possible to treat it, he also missed months of school but it eventually went away. my other friend didnt exactly do that he kept doing sports and going to school and it ended up dragging on for over a year. so good luck and make shure you do what your doctors tell you to.

are you absolutely sure its mono? one of my friends was out of school last year for 2 months with 'mono' he went back to have more tests done and he found out he had cancer. he is getting radiation right now and he should be fine, im not saying this to scare but you should deff make sure its only mono. think of losing your life at 16 like my friend almost did because of some stupid test results

i have had it 3 times. It SUCKS!!! but when you have it dont do anything at all, sit there watch tv and movies. i know of this one girl she didnt know she had mono and her spleen exploded and she died later. i am not trying to scare you but just becareful.

I had it last year right at the end of my racing season. I don;t remember anything from regionals cause i slept in the chalet and went out for races but i apperently won one run of gs. maybe you should take up ski racing, it made me better :)

you must have a poor immune system if you've had it 3 times, 99.9999999999 % you can only get it once because you body builds up memory antibodies and the strain doesn't really change

as for the spleen thing, your spleen becomes enlarged, so just don't do anything to rough, it doesn't just explode, you gotta really slam it hard enough

i had mono, but didnt know about it until i got a reprecussion called bells palsy, where the nerves in the left side of my face stopped working, ie, i slept with my eye open, drooled unknowingly, and smiled with half my face. even now, the damage is there, as i've lost one of the dimples in my cheek. plus, i never got to miss any school!

I have mono right now. It was bad for like a week. And now I barely notice it. I'm just tired. But before they gave me the anti-biotics, my lymphnodes (sp?) in my new were HUGE. You could clearly see them sticking out. And the by my jaw on the left was really big. It sucked when it was bad though, for the week all I could eat was one of those little applesauce cups all day. I've lost 19 pounds since the start of this.

Yeah, I was in the hospital on intravenous fluid to keep me hydrated, steriouds to bring dow nthe swelling of my glands, codine intraveniously for the pain, and anti biotics for the chest infection i also had. I couldn't eat or drink the whole time, I just got down some yogurt today. It's mono, they did the entire bloodwork on me, they thoght I had multiple things wrong like strept throat and larengytis and stuff. After 6 days in the hospital they have put me on home care. Severe mono fucking sucks ass, I just don't hope I have long-term mono, I need it to end by ski season.

speaking of being sick, i just got sick. My stomach was all over teh place yesterday and today, mostly in the toilet, and ive been really cold, even though i have like 4 layers on. Damn being sick sucks. Mono has been going around my school, so i really hope i dont have it
