I had a buddy that actually talked to the registrar about it and here (montana state) i think you have to talk to the person in charge of the residence hall to "ask permission" to stay in the dorms with your lower amount of credits

I think that I am going to talk to the advisor about it.

the only reason they will remove you from your dorm is if they are over crowded and need the space for transfers or something. I wouldn't worry too much about it, but your advisor is just going to tell you to talk to Residential Life or whatever its called at your school

Yeah on my floor there are 2 rooms with only one person per room and there is another room that is empty so I don't think the housing is over crowded. Would I have to meet with my Residence Director?

That was the right idea. I just called the advisor office and they said that I should talk to my Residence Director. They said that they want to make sure I am going to be going full time next quarter and want to know what my goals are to getting a degree and they try to accommodate changes so it sounds pretty fuckin chill. I have met my RD before so it should be a good meeting.
