Im going to Winter Park for 4 days over spring break and was wondering if its worth 20 bucks for a Dark Territory pass? If anyone knows how big the jumps are that'd be helpful. Also, are there any jumps close to 40 ft or bigger outside of Dark Territory?
Prob worth the 20 bucks since you'll be there for four days.
Jumps outside dark territory are more like 15 footers, nowhere near 40. I don't even think the dark territory jumps look much bigger than 40 themselves...
I was just there for a comp. They have like a fifteen foot, 20 foot, 33 foot jump line, then a line with probably a forty footer and a fifty five foot jump. It would be worth it for sure, especially if you had to drool over those jumps for four days. The public park doesnt have much to offer jump-wise.
Thanks for the help although its not what I wanted to hear. I ski in Wisconsin and we have a 55 footer so it really won't be a difference as far as jumps go. I'm definitely going to buy the pass.
I went to winter park a few years ago and it was tons of fun. It was my first year skiing so i wasnt going to be hitting the dark territory jumps, but they were looking pretty nice.
Worth it. Dark has fun jumps! Re railer has jumps that are like 15-20 to the knuckle but you can usually take them 35. But it's worth it to get the dark pass.
Winter Park has a lot more to offer than a mediocre park. Head to Mary Jane and explore the trees off of Trestle or Outhouse. Vasquez and Parsenn just opened up. Definitely lap Eagle Wind lift a few times as well.
Thanks for the advice I plan on getting the pass and having some fun on the jumps, but I will definitely go on an "adventure" looking for anything fun I can find in and out of the trees.
Why? Everyone else does it or at least a lot of people do it that I see and I didn't get a single reply until I bumped it the first time. Is there another way to get it read after it falls off to the posts at the end?
this right here, any one whos says winter park sucks is a straight idiot. It has the most cliffs and the steepest terrain in the front range. who cares about park(none of you kids are gonna triple anyways so you might as well just have fun skiing)
i look at it this way. i can scare myself at winter park pretty easily. i can't really scare myself at all at copper, breck, and keystone. talking outside the park. its also got the smallest lift lines than the summit/eagle resorts everyday of the week.
definitely hit up eagle wind for a while, there's some really fun terrain over there.
if the cirque is open and there's fresh snow, hit up waterfall, you will not be disappointed.
haven't been back in a couple years so can't comment on the conditions but hope it dumps for u
