trying to ski on rollerblades is what's gay. doing penciled frontsides and backsides will get you laughed at. no one actually hates on rollerblading at parks or anything unless you're being a goon in tall tees
lol i don't wear tall tee when im roller blading ... i mean you can make the trick look like skiing ( wich is wath OP asked) so you can praticed your rail skill for next winter ! if you can handle people who are ''laughing'' at you cause your tryiing to improve yourself then your doiing it wrong... ride for yourself not for what other people think of you ( that apply for everything actually !)
i think the difference is because you water skiing is just skiing water on ski ( like doiing one ski, slalom etc like all of our dad's used to do! (atleast for my dad !)) and wake skiing is maybe more park oriented ? wider ski and riding in Wakeboard cable park ?!
Mountain Biking for sure!! The air awareness and your ability to judge speed and distance from jumping and sliding in between the trees will greatly improve your skiing. The physical activity will help your cardio level and will strengthen your legs. win win.
This for sure. I absolutely love mountain biking. I've been to BC mountain biking way more times than I've been skiing (normally family summer trips) and it is unreal. It isn't as popular as skiing or boarding, so there are virtually no lift lines. Even when I was in Whistler a couple summers ago, there was no waiting. If you don't live near a resort, take up skateboarding or bmxing. I prefer biking to a board with plastic wheels though. Even though I have to say I like skiing more, BMX is a close second for me, and if I lived closer to the mountains, I'd be mountain biking just as much.
Just a few times, but a couple of my friends do it. It's just not really my style, seeing as the most you can do is flatland stuff. That being said, when I did try it, it was actually pretty fun. Also, there aren't any decent sized paved hills where I live, so you're pretty much stuck with pumping everywhere you go, and I prefer pedals for transportation.
Rollerblading, and for some skating is similar to skiing. In my opinion it is not the same, but then again I still cruise around and go to the park to skate occasionally. Or just invest about 50 bucks in some tarp and you can always have a mini setup to mess around and keep yourself in tact for the winter.
how about just making a summer setup in your backyard so you can just ski all summer? did it for like 3 years with my friends and we all got a ton better at skiing and never really had an off season, just skied on snow or turf year round
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!? "the most can do is flatland stuff" dude. If you get into sliding and high speed slides the thrill is amazing. There are TONS of slide variations. check ur stuff
Comparable to big mountain skiing: mountain biking, kayaking.
Park: Fruitbooting I guess?
For me water skiing feels completely different then snow skiing and I enjoy it way less. Kayaking has a lot of similarities in terms of line choice and the feeling of commitment you get doing it, same with mountain biking.
Are you aware that downhill bikes are made for downhill, hence "mountain" bike? Do you realize how hard it is to pedal a bike with soft suspension cross country? k
Yes, I am. But where I live, there aren't bike trails and lifts won't take bikers up. There's a downhill scene though. Either they pedal/walk up with their heavy bikes or get a more versital bike so they can pedal up. It just seemed to me you thought that you can't do downhill without a lift
