Goggles under helmet look

I'm just curious about the whole "goggles under the helmet" look and why you do it. It seems to be a must now for park skiers. Is it just a fashion statement?

Infinity times more comfortable. Goggles don't fit properly over helmets 90% of the time

If u rock the over helmet then when u put up the gogles thwy o over the top and hang in the back gaper style, plus under is way comfier

i have smith i/ox and vantage. perfect fit and all and it has the clip on the back so my goggles don't fly away.

I heard it started because when new school park skiing started all the helmets we're lame so they wore their skate board helmets and the goggles wouldn't stay over the helmets. fun fact

It's totally a preference thing. It's seems like parks guys go with under, big mountain goes with over. I've always preferred over helmet.

total phantom uncomfortableness. 'looks' waaay better, you dont look like a gaper and your goggles aren't 10000000x tighter on your face than they should be. under feels better

I don't know about other brands, but all of the electric goggles I've owned haven't been able to fit around my helmet without strangling my face. That's why I wear them under my helmet. The look of it is just a nice side effect.

I started putting my Smith I/O under my Protec Riot with a beanie underneath both this season and i think it is the best thing ever. But i think it is mostly park rats who ride with their goggles tucked under and the big mountain skiers have the big mountain goggle over helmet style.

If its so much better, why does every motocross rider ever have their goggles over the helmet? BUT, I am inclined to go with the anti-yard sale argument...

I feel under is more comfortable. And with my helmet there is a gap in padding where i keep the strap so the plastic clips dont bother me at all.

Both are fine, if you look like a gaper when you wear your goggles over your helmet then your doing it wrong.

Mostly depends on the Helmet/Helmet liner for most people it seems.

I just use a regular skateboarding helmet, and it doesn't fit properly over it. Plus it just looks better to me.

People saying it's for comfort are full of shit. You wear them under your helmet because it looks cooler. I wear them under my helmet because it looks cooler.

Goggles are made to wear on your head, not your fucking helmet. Idk if it's just me but goggles over the helmet are either weird fitting on way too tight cause the strap doesn't fit

It is way more practical to wear goggles over your helmet, however I still wear them under because I like the look.

bullshit, they're designed to go on your helmet just as much as they're designed to go on your head, personally i find them more comfy on my helmet and cant be bothered to deal with discomfort in order to fit in with the crowd.

not really-- i fail to see any real evidence that goggles are made to go over your helmet more so than your head. some dont even have straps big enough

what makes you think over the helmet is more functional? it depends on what goggles and helmet we're talking but many times the goggle doesnt sit on your face nearly as naturally/fitting when it's wrapped around a big helmet

How can you guys say that goggles don't fit right? If you get the right goggles and the right helmet, they fit. They're made to. Have a RED helmet? Get Anons. Smith helmet? Get Smith goggles. K2 helmet? K2 goggles. It's not that hard.

goggle strap under the helmet puts pressure on my ears and keeps them more warm, its like a head band over a beanie but they are goggles.

I personally don't care for having to tilt your helmet way back to put your goggles up, looks goofy to do that IMO.  To each their own but I feel like kids do it today just because everyone else does it.
