What Developer/Stop/Fixer does everyone use?



I usually use these.

Photographers Formulary BW-2 Developer
Photographers Formulary TF4 Fixer (I don't use a stopbath, since you don't need it with TF4)
H2O from my sink.


Works like a charm.

I've also used Compard R09 Spezial (basically Agfa Rodinol) for developer.

I'm developing as we speak:

Tri-X in D-76 dilluted 1:1.
Push to 800, 12.5 mins at 20c

I use whatever fixer I have; don't really care too much about it. I've heard GREAT things about TF-4, but it isn't available in Europe; except for TF-4 everything's pretty much the same; I'm using some Fomafix right now.

Got three rolls to develop at 1600; I'll do that after this roll. Hopefully they turn out well. Just invested in the Paterson system, but I'm not sure I like it all that much. I think I just want steel reels...

Suggestions for B&W (mostly tri-x, some hp5 and delta) and C-41 (portra, fuji reala, some gold/ultramax 35mm)

You just pour the fix straight in after the Dev? Wow... That's awesome! Wish they sold it in Europe. The general opinion seems to be that all fixers are the same, except TF4, which apparently blows everything else out of the water. Also: I've heard TF4 is better than TF5; what have you guys found?

vandersteeze and I are both using tf5 and it works like a dream, I wash for 2 min post dev though

I get my e6 stuff from freestyle

You just rinse the developer out a few times, then throw in the fixer. TF4 and TF5 don't agree well with stopbath because they're alkaline or something.. but they produce pretty awesome results none-the-less.

TF4 is better for film. TF5 is better for paper - least that's what I've heard. I haven't actually used TF5 on film yet.

Oh... You mean an actual stop bath. I've never done that. That's just bs and not required on the level we shoot. Maybe for (U)LF fine art photography, but I doubt you'll see the difference on 135 and 120.
I just use 20c/68f water as a stop bath.

Also, I just blew up my V600. Fucking BS. The adapter Epson supplies with the US version only does 100-120v. What the fuck? I've never seen that before. Pretty much everything is 100-240v; but not this. So fucking angry.
Any tips on how I can get Epson to get me a new scanner? Because I sure as fuck don't wanna pay 250€ (about 350$) for a new one.

that's so shitty man, was it just the adapter that blew or the scanner too? fuck that they should definitely help you, if it was sold as a european product/store then yes

I bought it in the US while I was there. The scanner died (I don't see why it wouldn't). Turned on for a sec, then died. So fucking shitty. Why do they even supply 100-120v adapters? Even my 20$ toothbrush is 100-240v...

I know it blew up because I bought it in the US, but what the hell were they thinking supplying a 100-120v adapter. Fucking bullshit.
Every product ALWAYS comes with a 100-240v adapter.

Just developed two rolls of Agfapan APX 100. What a great 100 speed film. Super cheap (2,65€/roll I think) and develops great in Rodinal (cheap developer).
