I can understand how it would help some people learn, but really if you dont have the determination and drive to learn without the assistance of the brake, then snowboarding probably isnt for you. Plus part of the fun of learning was the sense of accomplishment, using this thing as a crutch would definitely take that away.

Plus theres no way that thing would facilitate good form.

Oh yeah, all those kids who can barely stand on their boards, let alone any sort of maneuvering, are ALWAYS in the way in the parks! Are you retarded? Anyone who ventures into the parks, even the gapers, are beyond the Hellen Keller level of ability that's suggested for this board that has a brake.

yes they are, you still get the sideways stance, the gliding sensation, it probably helps with anxiety too. It's just a crutch to make the learning experience easier so new snowboarders dont throw in the towel after a day of falling on their face learning the hard way.

If you don't have the drive to put in the hard work and learn how to snowboard the right way, go back to sledding. If aren't willing to take the risk on the bunny hill without a stupid handbreak they will just be a hazard on larger, steeper runs.

Meh, I taught for 15 years and think its completely unnecessary. It gives them a comfort zone and a habit they'll eventually have to break. Just like a turbo leafer.

going to have to disagree with you a bit there, at my home mountain before college (midwest) the park was on one side of a lift and on the other side was the easiest non-bunny hill so actually something that will teach you how to turn with a little bit of speed. Event though there are signs, these beginners see that the park is about the same steepness and think they can do it too. give them boarder control and shit will hit the fan

The Pussification of America continues. When I was learning to ski I hated to pizza and i loved to go fast. Hence, bomb down bunny hill eat shit at bottom to stop all momentum in quickest way possible. I ever see someone with that I'm grabbing their leash and ripping their board out from under them. pussies

Limit these to the bunny hill and keep them only available as rentals and they're a relatively good idea.

But widespread distribution to Texans in jeans will make these a very bad thing very very quickly.

I think the guy is referring to the people who would buy these boards. Its for pussies and it would probably fuck runs up but I doubt these people would be leaving the green slopes or hitting the park, but you never know I have seen some stupid shit in the park.

But also not even trying to claim but that shit hole of a resort has produced a couple pros including Geopper and Laker.... so even though the park is "a bunny hill" it produced an X games winner...

Exactly. It's not bad if you want one to fuck around with in your yard to understand the concept but it's useless on a mountain.

Well you say you use it when you go to fast? You start learning turns on a flat flat bunny hill or at the very bottom before the flats.

The hardest part about snowboarding is learning to turn, this teaches them nothing.


It's great if your plan is to bomb the mountain without ever learning to turn but that isn't going to help you. Once you learn how to turn one way you can falling leaf it or turn sideways and scrub speed.
