I'm in Austria just now and tomorrow is the last day I'll be able to ski, but I broke my toe today! Random request, but anyone know if broken toes bad to ski with, or if it'll be alright? Really wanna get a final day in!
ski until it hurts and tape your toe to the adjacent toe would be my advice. as long as its supported and you dont have any huge toe impacts u should be good. just get off the hill if it becomes completely numb or if the pain increases from what it has been.
if its broken, skiing is no longer and option unless you can bear extreme amount of pain. A simple toebang hurts like shit, I cant imagine a broken toe.
First things first, you need to tape your broken to to a no broken toe to help stabilize it. I wouldn't hit any big jumps or do anything crazy that would result in toe bang. I skied a couple years ago with a broken foot and I just buckled my boot as tight as I could to keep it from moving. Best of luck bro
Haha, 99% certain it is. Got a doctor in Austria to look at it and she seemed certain it was broken.
For future reference if anyone wants to know, I taped it to another toe which wasn't broken and padded it with some bandage. Getting boots on was an absolute bitch. Kinda sore to ski, just hit easy rails and filmed a bit too!
I skied last year on a broken foot it was not the best idea but I just skied some groomers and tried to minimalize air time but it still hurt like a mother fucker
Hi everyone I broke my little toe 4 weeks ago - precisely 3 weeks before a planned ski week over Xmas in Val D'Isere. A & E doc at the time told me no chance of skiing in 3 weeks - did loads of internet searching including this site with various results but took a lot of solace from comments posted here. Spoke to a GP friend before I went who said as long as the swelling's gone down, take a hit of Ibuprofen/Paracetemol/Codeine 30 mins before setting off, gently put your ski boot on and you'll forget about it - how right she was. Pinched at first plus minor twinges when skiing ice/moguls (due to clenching my toes a bit) and added the odd Ibuprofen every now and again otherwise was no problem. In France they sell these Codeine/Paracetemol combo pills with far stronger Codeine component that work great - and a broken toe is protected brilliantly by a ski boot. In short people shouldn't give up on skiing if they break a smaller toe as long as that swellings reduced…..and don't forget DONT take Aspirin with the other stuff!
