Telemark twin tipping the new big thing?

After seeing more and more pics of people doing this, do you think that this will majorly catch on? I think this is limited to boxes and rails, what do you think?

3 years ago, I saw a couple of guys that looked about 14ish who where throwing huge cork 9's on Tele's. Steezed out like all get out. I can definitely say that they are not just a rail thing.

A long time ago I saw a tele kid do a 180 off a little bump on the side of the trail. Although that was in colorado. In jersey I think I've seen maybe one tele skier ever.

Its been going on for a while - my film teacher throws down on park on tele harder than most, same goes for Stu (a patroller). Just most of it isn't caught on film because most tele skiers fly under the radar for whatever reason. Maybe they've just freed their mind enough that film doesn't interest them.

There is a prominent division between the Front Range, the Western Slopes, and Southwest CO. So yes, I would say it warrants using the term SoCo. Though, I've never heard that term before and my ex is from near Durango.

it's really not that hard with the setups people ride these days. I'd challenge even some of the tele skiers on here to use my dads setup or my light backcountry setup and make it down a circle without falling.

i learned on a pair of 8 year old bindings on my dads skis, so i know what its like. still nothing compared to 25 years ago with leather boots and the whole get up. the new tele stuff is basically downhill gear...

Personally I'd say its likely to remain a similar balance to how Tele and Alpine always have been. There will be a niche subset who are super stoked on it, and who are super rad. The rest of us will keep saying "Fucking' rad dude" and then click into our fixed-heel alpine boards.

Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely 100% stoked on it. I'm really happy that they're getting the respect that they deserve, and I think they can and should continue to do so.

Same reason I didn't switch to snowboarding I won't switch to Tele - I just really like skiing.

i know this kid who use to do it. it can look legit and it can look lame, all depending on what the feature is and how good the skier is. I dont get how they are stable when their heels aren't connected

some of the most fun I've had on skis is on this setup. used to be what I skied on on the ski hills before I got downhill skis or my newer tele setup.

got made fun of a lot, but also got a lot of awesome comments from people when I'd rip down the most difficult runs on those bad boys.

Because I am more comfortable with a free heel.  I feel really locked in and sketched out when I can't drop a knee.  No matter what I'm doing, it feels better (for me) telemarking.

It's what I'm used to and it's how I have the most fun.  And it's not just "one trick", the possibilities are lieterally endless.
