Ok Jon, yes, team usa screwed you over, yes you got to be mad about it. But time has passed, it was by far the best event our sport had, maybe it didn't do much to expand our sports base ala xgames, but it was the largest event that didn't focus on competition tricks, it was about style, and editing, and "overall impression" (haha) which is far more core to newschooling than triple corks.

p.s. where's sammy? still nursing the injury?

p.p.s. I did search bar but misleading titles are no fun.

They put the edit out and they can't. Jon was realesing one each week and Team usa just put it out and didnt give a fuck. So he was mad :(

tammy walnuts and the dudemont got butthurt because they didnt win and then screwed Jon out of thousands of dollars of advertising by releasing their video early to spite him when they had no right to.

basically they pulled a complete bitch move.

ok ok, lets not lament on the past, honestly i feel like this competition means more to skiing than its cost, with all these companies these days i don't see why he couldn't get sponsors

Also i can pretty much guarantee the reason for recent lack of JOSS has nothing to do with Team USA. Jon is probably super busy racing most of the year,

This isn't why it hasn't happened, its been because of sponsor money.

It sounds like it wont happen this year but next year is very possible.

Yeaaa that's not how it went down... although they were not happy because Jon changed the judging criteria at the last second (after everything had been completed/submitted) so Jon's buddies could win. In that case, anyone would be pissed. However, releasing their video a week early wasn't a case of them somehow being vengeful, that's just fucking stupid. The real world is not like NS, hate to break it to you.

Honestly, I haven't really heard the reasons though. If eheath is right about sponsor money, I feel like some of the big time names could bring in the money if they had the willingness to get something going. Obviously, I don't know the ins and outs of the industry and how it could be done, but I feel like pros would be on board with participating in something like this.

So why did they release it early, against all VERY CLEAR instructions?... after being screwed out of the win, and thousands of dollars...because of a HS-like popularity contest.

They were drunk and pissed. regrettable things happen when those two combine.

I could give a rats ass about who did what, when. JOSS was the greatest spectacle of skiing ever. Every time it happened someone seemed to capture some new camera angle or land some insane or flat out mental trick (EX: CHUGS - Macarena), and many minds were blown. JOSS NEEDS to be brought back. It would be a crime against humanity for it to never happen again.
