any BMX racers on here? or anyone who raced in a prior lifetime?
I know its not relevant but shoutout to anyone still ripping it up, I essentially quit when my family moved out west to Utah (even though its massive out here). had boatloads of fun from age 6 till like 13, rode Redlines mostly for a shop that sponsored me and my sister, got a few top 3 finishes in the state, got a few nationals invites, etc. all that fun stuff, really had a blast thinking back on it in hindsight. But I guess all the kick-ass skiing/other outdoor activities make up for it.
also was heavy into BMX when not racing, dirt jumps thrilled me a helluva lot more than street/park riding due to my background, but it was all sick as fuck. loved building retardedly dangerous mounds of dirt to see how hard we could huck.
kudos to yall still tearing it up, shits hard whipping those frames around sometimes.

racing was my life when I was four. I rode a haro sr mini back then. I had always wanted to get into park and dirt and im glad I did
I like bikes. Haven't bought a complete in about 5 years.
Ran this one for a long time:
Custom frame by Stout bikes
Fox 32 Float 80mm
Atomlab P-lites on Profile classics

Deity Topsoil bars
Deity cranks, ti spindle

Then came this guy:
Trek Ticket S R-Dawg
Manitou Circus Expert
NS Quark Pro Stem
Deity Blacklabel Bar
Shimano XT Brakes
Deity I Beam Saddle
Deity Pedals
Shimano Saint Crankset
Raceface Narrow-Wide
Zee rear mech
Ultegra Cassette
Saint Shifter

Maxxis Ardents summer, Maxxis Minions winter.
Saddle that came on my specialized hardrock 5 years ago. Keeping that thing till the end of time, man.
Dont have pictures, but I'll post when I get home later this week. I have too many bikes, the newest of which is 3 years old.
2012 Giant Faith (Dh/Freeride)
2009 Turner 5 Spot (All Mtn)
2009 NS Bitch (DJ/occasional trail when I feel I'm getting lazy on my full susp)
1984 Scwinn Sprinter (cruiser bike, got it for a steel (get it?) For only $75
Didn't get out on it as much as I wanted this summer, but hopefully there will be a few days out before the snow flies. If not, it will soon be time for upgrading parts (namely suspension and possibly brakes).
SE Draft Lite
SKS fenders
Fyxation gates slim pedals
Cheapo pedal straps
Origin8 chain tensioners
Seat taken from scott mountain bike
Bars wrapped in bike tape, which broke brake lever housing, barely held on right now, but I don't even need brakes as I get better at riding fixed gear
Crappy frame has caused some headset issues and my temporary solution will probably fuck up the frame more, so I plan on building this next summer and using mostly parts from the SE and my 1990's Torelli road bike.
Currently don't have a Mountain bike and I'm living in Bozeman, MT surrounded by awesome mountains :(
Trek Farley 8. Almost completely stock except for being tubeless with Orange Seal sealant. Running Shimano M780 pedals on it, and then I just carry a shit load of gear, always two bottles, a hand pump, and a saddle bag that is probably way more stacked than anything you've ever seen. I don't carry tubes because they're massive so I have to load my bag with stuff to patch and seal a tire and rim. Also carrying quick links for 10spd chain and 11spd chain because no other locals do, yet they always break chains... Basically I'm a support guy for a lot of people.
I also have a Trek Cobia but the Farley is a way better spec so it's been my daily driver this summer. I'll be riding it all winter to.

Thanks man! The new ones, even though they are still aluminum, can be built up pretty light. Mine is 16.5kg/36lbs, and I could make it lighter with some carbon wheels but that's a bit more coin than I'm willing to drop.
Tingahow do you like your oval chain ring? I like the concept and would love to give it a try.
Pretty subtle, but noticeable. Feels a bit smoother all the time and it's most noticeable on short, steep climbs when it feels a bit easier to keep momentum.
I was changing to a smaller chainring anyway so I went for the oval. Go for it on your next chainring but unless you have cash to burn then it can wait.

Big_Spencetrack is in walla walla, wa. definitely one of my favorites in the state.
That open to ride on any bike? Looks worth the drive from this side of the mountains.
division.bellThat open to ride on any bike? Looks worth the drive from this side of the mountains.
yeah it's completely open to the public. it's the longest ABA sanctioned track in WA. the first two straights are absolutely massive; like 30'+ a feature but it's incredibly well built and always in good shape during race season. let me know if you ever come over this way to ride (track or XC) cause i'd love to show you around!
