Computer Tech Question.

So lately my computer has started running pretty slow and I am seeing the occasional blue screen of death. I need this computer for work and don't want to have to buy a new one cause Windows 8 is crap and thats all I can find right now.

I am thinking about restoring my PC to its original setting after backing it up but I know that will remove my MS Office which I use for work. I think Office came on my PC but Outlook did not and I got that from work. Our Outlook key has been used on too many PC's at this point and cannot be used again. If I restore my computer will I need to buy a new Outlook or will the key remember it was used on this PC and allow me to do it? Or is there any way to restore the PC and keep outlook?

I plan on backing up all of my files but I don't know if I can back up the program.

I still have the key I just am not sure that if I restore the computer and remove it if the key will allow me to install it again. We tired to install it on a new computer last week and it told us we needed a new key cause it had been put on too many PC's already.

From my experience, most BSODs  - Blue Screens of Death were from hardware issues, not software issues.

What are the specs on the machine?

Re-imaging wipes the contents of the computer. You'll have to buy a new outlook. Maybe use gmail or something else?

from my experience its the exact opposite. Most of the BSOD's i've received are from updates to windows, which were all alleviated when i restored to factory and only ran certain updates. but i don't know a huge deal about comps so thats just my personal experience

A full wipe is always a good start, then if it continues, you know it's probably a hardware issue.
