How many people do you think know about Steve? Is the amount that he gets "paid" (or if he even gets money from sponsors) fair compared to his fame? Im under the impression that his fame/skill/influance is overlooked greatly by his sponsors. Steve has met/coached so many kids, been in so many edits and is very well know. I feel like he is a classic example of a skier that sells product but not given much by his sponsors. Thoughts?

While this thread has been thoroughly entertaining. I have to say, Saga, you have really not contributed anything positive to this argument for yourself, all you have done is make yourselves look irresponsible with social media tools, cold-hearted, ignorant, and cocky... whether that was your intention or not.
As far as these "we were just joking, we are not responsible for how you interpreted it", "that was another saga employee, we are responsible with what we say... we stand behind everything we say" malarkey, would you buy that if someone tried to sell it to you after saying something stupid? I sure did not. Just apologize for acting the way you did so people can maintain the small fraction of a shred of respect they may or may not have left for your company.

Oh and Steve Stepp? Props to you for conducting yourself like a professional and treating this community with the respect it deserves. I use to think you were uncool for not skiing with poles years and years ago. For that I am sorry, it was closed minded of me, I think you are a sick skier and a true industry professional. I am sure you will have a prosperous career in this sport whether it is as an athlete or otherwise, keep giving us an example to look up to and respect.

I will apologize for being aggresive but I will not apologize for having an opinion and finding Andy's intial statement offensive. He said he believed steve to be a classic case of a skier who sells a lot of product but is not given the same support from his sponsors. As one of his main sponsors that directly speaks to how we support steve. That statement offended me and everyone at Saga because we pride ourselves on helping out people like steve. Skiers and snowboarders that get nothing but products from their sponsors. We put a lot of time, energy and money into our team. So whether you care to believe this or not that is why I got so heated. Yeah it was a little aggressive but sometimes you dont think thoroughly before responding.

And in response to the "saga is going to put yoke out of business" if I ever thought that statement would be taken seriously I never would have said it. It was from myself to andy during a friendly conversation. saga has zero intention of even competing with yoke let alone any interest in putting them out of business. they do what they do (and are doing it well) and we do our thing. thats it.

If you still hate Saga and think were cocky assholes then theres nothing we can do about it. you cant change the past. If this one thread is how you choose to judge our entire company than you are quite close minded. but you can be everyones friend so hate us or love us were going to keep doing what we do.

Seriously? You're going to have a company account and then say your company shouldn't be judged based on what is posted under it? That makes absolutely no sense. Then on top of it you are calling people closed minded for taking what you guys post and forming an opinion based on that. I would say the people who are not taking what you post in this thread into consideration are close minded. They just want your gear and don't care who they are giving their money to. Keep posting in this thread SAGA, you're doing yourself a great deal of good.

No, my opinion of you guys was not formed over this one thread.

It has been formed over multiple threads and honestly, you guys are the epitome of high school park rats who still haven't matured.

Its tight you guys started your dream and made it thrive.
Its tight you guys try and get involved with the community that shares the same love you guys do.
Its tight you guys make a company account to listen to your money making demographics.

But realize there is an extremely fine line established for a high profile company when they choose to opinionate themselves on different issues in their given industry, especially with how small of a market we are. It either solidifies or breaks their market.

You guys post your "opinion(s)" CONSTANTLY .

You got called the fuck out for acting the way you guys truly think, which didn't even seem like Andy's point for creating this thread. You instigated it and then ran away from it after your points were challenged, while still maintaining an aggressive demeanor.

The only people who find picking on others or fucking with others who aren't close friends are douchebags.

Even your apology was aggressively charged in a sense.

Remember when you were little and your parents always told you "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" or "think before you speak"

Yeah....

So if you guys wanna join in on the conversation like all us other normal members and tear other people's opinions apart or try to drop some knowledge / fuck around in general, then log in to your personal accounts once in a while and (mostly) everybody would be none the wiser that you're a saga employee. You'd be one of us again, and would have the personal freedom to make these comments without any major repercussion. It's your company's saving grace.

But when you keep constantly trying to prove your credibility through the company account, in a internet forum based on mostly opinion, its SO HARD to stay legit unless you are 99% credible and valid in your opinion / argument. Plus, its a classic case of what not to do with business PR. Never challenge, unless it's yourself, always stay positive with company relations.

If I were you, I'd pull an AIG or BP right now, and start blowing positive out the ass to try and deter all of our negatively formed opinions of your company from this thread. People remember negative shit so much more than they remember positive shit.

So you can keep doing what you guys have been doing, which is cool, I guess, but don't ever really expect me to take your claims as credible. You guys HONESTLY DO make some cool shit and probably have the most stacked team of non-comp riders, most of which are the god damn homies and acquaintances i've met at parties and friends houses. But it's a real shame i'll never support the cause now without some serious paradigm shifts in the company's thought process.

But hey, i'm just one guy in a sea of many. Plus, opinions are like assholes. Everyone's got one. But heed my warning, because you guys have officially started down a slippery slope. Ask Boax, he's quite familiar with it....

i love how people are taking saga so seriously. that company is pretty much a glorified school project and barely makes enough in sales to hire some interns and give freebies to their "pro" team. kids on ns and kids at saga both need to lighten up. it's a fucking ski clothing brand that makes skittle suits. not the fucking UN. relax...

i highly doubt they're losing customers because of one thread. i actually just bought two hoodies. whatever they say in a thread doesn't change the quality of their stuff. saga is high quality. it lasts a long time, does a great job doing what its supposed to do, and looks good. anybody actually taking this so serious as to not buy saga product is, i have to say, pretty stupid. no im not a suck up for saga. they have great customer service, and great product. if jerm (or whoever is still on the saga account) wants to defend their actions on the saga account, thats completely justifiable. now everybody chill out and go ski

Bummer things went like this. I'm sure the free give away stuff for Tell A Friend tour will be lighter next year because of this. And I was also never talking about Saga when I made this post as much as they think I did. I might as well made this about another rider like Steve but having recently watched his "See me trolling edit" he was fresh in my mind (no homo). I thought that was understood a few pages ago but I guess not and that's a shame.

The "put Yoke out" comment was ambigous because shortly after I heard Saga wanted "head to toe" on a mutual rider making him un able to be on Yoke.

Once agian this was never about Saga but he we are. Big bummer for Tell A Friend Tour and any kids who come because this will be a loss of a good sponsor.
