How many people do you think know about Steve? Is the amount that he gets "paid" (or if he even gets money from sponsors) fair compared to his fame? Im under the impression that his fame/skill/influance is overlooked greatly by his sponsors. Steve has met/coached so many kids, been in so many edits and is very well know. I feel like he is a classic example of a skier that sells product but not given much by his sponsors. Thoughts?

this thread is crazy. I love saga, and andy, and black steve (personal hero), but this is fucking nuts! obviously companies aren't going to pay their riders who are more underground than say a x games medalist (although i wish it wasn't like that), but the fact that there was so much shit talking and hate makes my head spin. get your shit together skiing community, because if we all start to argue like this, we're heading in the wrong fucking direction and were going fast.

all that proves is what we have known all along about steve. he is only in it for the money. he could give a fuck about the fame, thats why he lets others take all the credit while he sits back in his lawn chair and stacks his money while sipping a tropical alcoholic beverage

Whoever is handling the social media side for Saga obviously has no formal PR experience. They fumbled the response almost as bad as Applebees did a few weeks ago after the receipt/tip incident.

Getting passive aggressive on an internet form is bad business.

Very on point Andy. He is probably one of the ski community's most looked up to riders and he lives in a dumpster. He should get the credit he deserves or he is going to quit skiing and try to get into the music biz. I have to say I never would have guessed Black Steve would wear Abercrombie. I feel like he just kind of wears whatever and doesn't care. More power to him.

I think I remember him joking in one of the 4bi9 episodes about how much they would mooch off of Tommy Wall, although he was probably kidding.

yeah this shit is funny and all, but i honestly hope this whole shit is a big troll. sadly, thats not how business' seem to operate any more. There tends to be a fringe few like the TC crew who are in it to win it and are out there literally killing it day in and day out. I bought some saga before...but after the way they handled their response to Andy in this thread, ill take my money else where. In this day and age if you can't respect those in the industry who are driving your sales (read: "pros") why should I buy your shit? I can find the same quality outerwear elsewhere but I know I am not alone in saying I am a bit put off by your "professionalism", and trust me that I am all for keeping skiing lighthearted...you guys make sick gear, but its a shame to see any pros/industry folk riling each other up for no reason, slightly diminishes your stoke... enjoy da trollin'

Wow......

I wanted my post to be about skier that dont do comps, and are well known in freeskiing like Steve. He was an example for a question that I should have worded better. So lets go back in time, take away all the Saga hate (that I never started BTW, and even backed them up in my last post), and allow me to restate this question.

"Do non comp skiers that produce edits, coach, have a long standing personality in freeskiing, and have one interactions with with fan/consumers deserve money from sponsors?"

My last 10 point post was me being to defensive about being called out for something I never started. Do know that I was not being "too serious" about the statements I made.

In the end I dont want anyone to be mad about this, and dont want anyone to get in trouble for a post that I should have worded differently. My bad Saga, Steve and any sponsor that I might be getting an upset/disappointed email from. Maybe its time for this to be deleted before anyone else is defaced or even worse I get in trouble for it.

Sorry everyone I didn't want to shit talk or have any respect lost for anyone involved.

On another note JAPAN IS CRAZY!!!!!!
