I personally dont like using transitions, maybe a fade to black or an occasional film burn but i really like clean looking edits that transition based on the music/ beat

Yeah most people don't like fancy transitions. Instead of trying to make it flashy, try making it clean and refined.

Yeah that's the easiest way. There are lots of videos so choose one with a high rating and good comments.

it's not a preset effect, but rather a video of a film burn you overlay into your timeline and work with the opacity or whatever the hell you want to do to use the film burn

cleanly cut edits are the best, the only transitions I typically use are film burns, cross dissolves, wipes and fade to blacks. Unless you're trying to make a b&e show type edit, then just use whatever fits.

Clean cuts, fade to black/white for location change, superposition and eventually film burns when justified.
No need to go in the 3D page transition section, pretty ugly and lame.
