Uh... well you can't find real backcountry in Vermont because the woods are too thick. The closest thing I can suggest to you is glades. If you're up for the ride, Jay Peak has Vermont's best glades. If you're by Mount Snow, they have some pretty good glades and "steeps" over by the North Face. And if you're in the middle, Stratton surprisingly has some good glades. Try Moonbeam on the main mountain and Test Pilot over on the Sun Bowl.
hahaha. there actually is some backcountry to be had in the ol' VT. A good place to start is Shrewsbury - North facing woods right off Rte 100 south of Killington towards Ludlow. Skin up the sled access and enjoy the trees.
