It's an unspoken "rule" with CGI that adding humans immediately ruins the effect because our perception of them is so critical that it is not yet possible to make it look realistic (most of the time).

Oh my god! Only after it ended I found out what CGI is. I didn't for a second suspect it was fake.

I don't think we are that far away.

I overheard a random conversation where people were talking about production companies buying "the rights" to celebrities so that they can re-create them in CGI and use them in movies for years after they are dead... Which is absolutely fucked.

I don't either. From what I've seen, the people at Squaresoft are still the most photocapable humanoid CGI artists I've ever seen, namely that Final Fantasy movie that came out in 2001...whatever it was called.
