Because if you kill a civilian, you might very well be robbing them or have some grudge against them. If you kill a cop, it's probably based exclusively on their profession
I wouldn't say that they're worse, they're just retarded. If you kill a cop you'll get fucked and fucked and fucked by the long dick of the law. It's more a term of amazement at how stupid someone can be.
I don't think anyone believes that police officer's lives are more or less valuable than the lives of others. I think it's that it is unusually brazen to attack and/or kill those who we trust with our general protection and well being.
Police is not about social control...no, police is about protecting the banking institutions and private property. I hate the cops just as much as anyone else, but who is going to come for you when your in trouble? Be human to them at the very least, he might be the guy that answers your call.
only double negative k for this post to the highest i mean lowest degree
i agree, sad but true. There are a lot of great cops out there but where im from the only thing they seem to do is harass people until they accidentally harass a criminal
This is hot territory for anyone who knows about stop and frisks. Could be why NYC crime rate is so low though. Most of those will probably be stopping soon. I've been hearing a lot about new scanners that detect firearms. Not too sure about the exact technology but that's probably where it's going. .
The original case that established this (Terry v. Ohio) involved suspects who repeatedly walked in circles in front of a jewelry store, each time stopping to look into the window. The court established that those actions were sufficient "reasonable suspicion" that a crime is, had been, or would be occurring.
New York's interpretation of this to mean EVERY (minority) person in "high crime" areas should be allowed to be stopped and frisked does not fall within the realm of Terry v. Ohio or other 4th amendment precedence. I am honestly amazed it has yet to be stuck down by SCOUTS or an appellate court.
wish Stewart had used himself as an example. "because I support so-and-so you still chose to have me on the show even though nonissueA clearly defines who I am and therefore I should not be celebrated"
I find cop killer to be a term more used on tv shows as it makes it more of a personal crime as more officers and detectives would have known the victim. Although that is more because I haven't heard the term used to much on the news where I live
quite simple really, Police are people who dedicate their life to maintaining order and safety in our community. Killing them is in turn placing threat on that which affects us all. Not that they're important its just what it stands for.
Killing a cop is more audacious than killing a random person. A cop is probably armed and can call for help. A person who kills a cop has no fear of being caught, and is more dangerous.
well there's an unwritten rule between cops and criminals. you dont kill the cop. once that happens you get the fbi involved and its a whole new game. you clearly have no respect for the police or laws or other people and don't give a fuck if you or other people die or go to prison.
and your white friend who had to spend 3 days in the tombs (Brooklyn jail) because he was arrested by a black cop for falling asleep on the subway at 3:15am because he missed his train out of the city, and was riding it to a friends house to sleep for the night.
