I am going to be buying some new skis next year, and I am not sure which ones to buy. So I need some help. I ride park, but not all the time, I ether go in the park or I do powder. so I need a pair of skis that are light enough to easily swing on rails and are eaisy to butter and Ollie. But I also need them to be fat enough to go through powder and land on "pillows" without just sinking right threw.
I ride the K2 Kung Fujas which are suppose to be 50% pow 50% park. They ride very well as an all mountain and powder, and i do take them in the park. I guess a considerable difference with the weight but i can do rails fine just not a lot of spinning. The hold up very well on park jumps though and at the same time are forgiving.
Hope you find the right skis dude! I had the same problem as you at the beginning of this year but luckily my friend had a pair of pow skis for $50 so I took those then just bought some AR7's.
I highly recomend the Line Chronic's, which is what im riding now. Perfect for what youre looking for. I got the Cryptonite model, which is wider underfoot than the regular model I believe..I love em!
I have last years Chronics and I fricken love them. Mounted 2 cm back from true center and they are a blast on groomers and in the park. I haven't been in super deep powder but they do seem to float well in the powder I have been in.
Chronics are wide enough for a little powder but mostly for park and suspects are good all mountain for being park skis. durablilty issue with the suspects so I'd suggest chronics if u do rails a lot.
Moment pb&j all the way. They're 100 underfoot and lighter than k2recoils if that's not enough incentive. Basically a great pow ski with the same capabilities of a great park ski.
And filthy riches are also great if you wanna go narrower. Also, I wouldn't go with line chronically because I've found among friends that bought them that they arnt durable. Granted a lot of the kids I know who have them huck
