Were you wearing them while skiing though? This would only be valid if you were wearing skinny jeans skiing about 7 years ago.

If you wear them in normal life then that is a normal skate influence.

Snow steals shit from skate too, they're the same as us but we wait until they have done it.

skateboarding > snowboarding > Skiing

I believe that it is because a while ago all the kids that didn't know much about winter sports thought snowboarding was a lot cooler than skiing, and that skiing was only a sport for families and old people. Naturally the youth that was interested in the freestyle progression of the sport wanted to disprove the majority of the human population and try to show people that they were "thug" and even cooler than the snowboarders. Therefore the hood skiers were born. From there on out people just copied the look from these trendsetters and tried to act just as cool as them. I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing, more of a part of the freestyle skier culture, I personally enjoy wearing tall clothing as it sets me apart from the rest of the crowd that is usually on the mountain.
