What happened to the hot little mag called AXIS is it gone or is it my piece of shit town just doesnt stock it anymore....That mag was amazing...Powder mag is sweet too

I think Powder sucks. Its for your parents, not you. Unless of course you're 40 and if that is the case--why are you on NS?

Axis was discontinued by Primedia, Inc., suffering the same fate as Freeze.

Estake Powder didn't cut Axis, the company who owns both mags did. Powder is a great mag. Anyone else got the new issue yet with the photos from Superpark. They are sick.

But every year they put less and less photos from it in the mag, and they don't even give details anymore.
and last year they didn't even give that Tommy character from Hood photo credits.

I think axis was better then freeze it had more style to it. It was more pics and less articles.Its like a quickie mag to get your skiing fix

Yea axis was better i always had it as Axis Freeze then Freeskier in terms of so called new school mags but now my top 2 are gone guess i have bad taste




Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

Axis was a pretty mad mag, it had like 20 pages, 10 pages were adds 8 were picture, and it had a total of about 100 words

Yeah I think with the gapping hole left by the demise of 2 of the 3 big newschool mags something will soon fill it. Just look at all the marketing numbers. By anyone's standards newschool skiing is booming and it needs a magazine. I wouldn't worry, soon another great mag will come a long to fill the void.

John Andrew Steward, a rich kid from Georgia, will not hesitate for a moment to tell you exactly what he\\\'s thinking (and I use that term loosely). His over 2000 posts make him one of the most prolific retards on our list, and he\\\'s become something of a legend on this website, representing the ever-growing intellectually devoid section of the membership here at NS.com. In fact, when the Golden Wheelchair award was first conceived, there was some talk of naming it after him, as a dedication. I don't think the writing in any skiing is good. Its decent, I read it because its about skiing, not because it is good writing. I just want to know what happened, Freeze didn't have the most excellent literary pieces, but it gave you the details about what is going on where, results, whos up and coming, whos dominating, what new skis are cool blah blah blah, no one cares about how eloquently they write.

powder rocks, just because they dont focus entirly on tanner, or the NS scene doesnt mean that its a sucky magazine. i think powder is the most well rounded, yet interesting magazine. in the latest issue, the article about sage, adn the one about the Jacksion hole airforce were awsome.

ski, now that is a horrible magazine, the only good part is warren millers section, cause he's the man. all ski reports on are the best $300 a night lodging in vail. and how to piss people at resorts off by being selfish and being 'family orieneted'. oh yeah, and their portrayal of the NS scene is atrocious.

skiing is only slightly better, but not by much

wat about mag called sbc skier or something? my mum picked it up for me when she was over in canada for free. it seemed pretty sweet, was really well written, knew what they were in about, and had a decent mix of local scene (feature on burke's progression camp, as well as her) as well as big mountain stuff.
