Personally I am always super stoked on this. Its actually my favorite skiing competition of the year. They also changed up the format and now the top 10 finalists all get an invite to the Sun Valley park shoot in april. Over the week level 1 will drop updates, and then will create a segment for the new movie. I think that this change in format is a great idea, and hopefully will help draw great talent and seperate the boys from the men.

I predict some entries from Hood Crew and Toy Soldiers, but I think the winner will be an unknown who really needs the exposure and $$$.



Anyone want to share some stoke? Predictions? Any idea who is putting out an entry?

I'm not sure why this has to be explained to you, unless you've just been intentionally trying to stir shit up.. But Superunknown has never been an urban contest, or a park contest or what have you.

As is repeated every year: it's a contest judged by the Level 1 crew, they collectively choose the rider they want to be in the next film. Last year they went as far as going back on their original decision and didn't even pick a finalist, remember?

Yo Alex, like half of Logans shots were backcountry? It was a super creative well-rounded edit? And ya it didnt have park , but thats a good thing cause level 1 movies pretty much have 0 park rails. Your argument makes no sense, and you havent even seen the finalists.

everyone in the crew got to pick 10 people. the 10 that ended up with the most votes will be finalists and go to sun valley. yeah, bulzan was in my top 10, but unfortunately he didn't get enough votes to crack the tallied top 10. does that make him any less sick? fuck no. would i buy a Utah crew movie comprised of all the Hood Crew and these newcomers? you're god damn right i would.

i hate it when people take this shit personally, like not winning it just means the end of someones ski career. look at the year i won (a decision that still baffles me): kooter films with pbp, bellemare with level 1 and crushing comps, spencer with level 1, aidan with MSP, mcrae just won euro x, torvinen had BANGERS with tsp, laker films with 4bi9, cheddar is getting hammers with level 1, sig won the next year, and clayton is filming with everyone and dropped the best online segment of all time.

i can't remember who else off the top of my head, but people need to remember that this shit is just a video contest and the exposure alone can put you on the radar with all kinds of people in the skiing industry.

we needed a dose of reality . cant wait to see the level 1 movie this year, more superunknown edits, and the fucked up shit that will be sure to happen in Sun Valley.

The video online contest is really the best format to show freeskiing in my opinion. Its always great, and people will throw down so damn hard to win a spot.

If this is what the SuperUnknown winners look like, imagine what the TGR Co-Lab will be like.

This thread is out of hand, the finalists by no means are the "best skiers", they're the best fit for level 1. This contest isn't a slopestyle competition where the "best" video wins, its insanely subjective and it ultimately comes down to the personal opinion of 2-3 people.

I wouldn't worry about kids like Brad, they're going places. Hood Crew is just getting started I see Brad, brigs, etc even though they are only "semi-finalists" (Note, these are the #11-30 out of over 100 videos) they are going to keep skiing and get better and do their own shit. Tim didn't win superunknown, hes filming with L1P, neither did ahmet... I'm just saying, you don't need to win superunknown to blow up and be a good skier.

This is a video contest where you haven't seen the finalist yet. I know for a fact they are banger because one of my friends made it with goood edit! Would have been nice to make finals but I'm still hyped on semis. People need to stop bitchin about who shoulda won without seeing the finalist. Your gonna be blown away!

The level in this is pretty mindblowing. If I was going to pick one out, I can't see how Joakim Rignell won't end up filming with someone, the guy is Will Wesson level good on rails, serious contender for the most technical rail skier bar none and he still makes it look fluid/smooth. Can't wait to see the finalists if these are the guys who didn't make it!

level 1 have been making questionable choices since wallisch if you ask me but hey who are we to judge ... these guys have their own vision and definitly know what they are doing.

i wouldnt have put either brogan , eriksson , imlach , tveit or lsm as winners but they won and except for brogan they are all doing a fine job with level1

Robby had some dope shots. Don't see the hype on zahner, looked like a typical ec park edit. I see this everyday and after watching twall destroy park shitty, no chance. Still a good edit and quality left and rt tricks

all the tricks were banger and deserved numerous angles. What other tricks did you want him to show? he showed he can spin all directions on all axis's with all rotations. and several variations of grabs. If someone can switch left dub 14 and right dub 12 i think it proves his bag of tricks runs deep. Maybe he could have shown urban but im confident he would slay sun valley more so than any of the others ive seen.

I didn't really say what I meant before, I was trying to be nice. What I really thought was that edit was annoying as fuck, I couldn't stand watching it. There is no need to show two angles of 85% of the tricks in an edit.

numerous angles shows the trick from many prespective and allows you to see takeoff, the full extent of the grab and landing. All of which Robbie slayed. If that edit was annoying to you maybe you should stop watching skiing.
