Personally I am always super stoked on this. Its actually my favorite skiing competition of the year. They also changed up the format and now the top 10 finalists all get an invite to the Sun Valley park shoot in april. Over the week level 1 will drop updates, and then will create a segment for the new movie. I think that this change in format is a great idea, and hopefully will help draw great talent and seperate the boys from the men.

I predict some entries from Hood Crew and Toy Soldiers, but I think the winner will be an unknown who really needs the exposure and $$$.



Anyone want to share some stoke? Predictions? Any idea who is putting out an entry?

Welp, Briggle's urban was nuts. Some tech, some heavy.
Lars' in-air style was too smooth, but rails were pretty much nonexistent. It's a testament to his style that he still made semi-finalist despite that.
Karcher's style was just perfect. That's what no-poles should look like, in my opinion.
Joakim is absurdly effortless. It rarely even looks like he's landing and everything is absurdly smooth. Sixes out of flat rails don't look remotely hucked.

Out of these semi finalists I'd say Andy, Oscar, and Lars stand out.

Not a fan of tight pants but Joakim can spin while keeping his arms down better than most on jumps and rails.

Cedric I only really liked the last shot, I've seen all those urban spots slayed much harder.

Mike Briggles, again most of those spots were in 4bi9's Keep Looking and they went harder.

It's a competition... for edits. If they didn't pick through each person they wouldn't find the

best addition to an already great film company. This is one of my favourite competitions

because kids with style and skill come out of nowhere each and every year. If you don't

watch every edit you'll probably miss something good. These first 8 are great riders but they

didn't surprise me throughout their entire edit. A truly great edit will surprise you pretty much

the whole way through, not technically but creatively.

Honestly, I don't think he has very good style, but his skiing is really fun to watch. Looks like he is having a lot of fun, and that is what really counts.

I love when people defend their friend's style on newschoolers. It's a subjective debate bro. Also, I think that dude is tight and all (lol), but I almost puked when he started his edit with the "all 8" thing. I thought we were leaving that to 13 year old astro turfers by now.

Joakim's the only skier who just spins on rails that I still enjoy watching. But I agree with Billiards, that all 8 business at the start was so lame.

McDowell's knuckle drag is the highlight out of everything I've seen so far, nothing else has really stood out yet.. Maybe Lars' tweeked blunt, but his butters were weak not sure why they made it into the edit.
