Personally I am always super stoked on this. Its actually my favorite skiing competition of the year. They also changed up the format and now the top 10 finalists all get an invite to the Sun Valley park shoot in april. Over the week level 1 will drop updates, and then will create a segment for the new movie. I think that this change in format is a great idea, and hopefully will help draw great talent and seperate the boys from the men.

I predict some entries from Hood Crew and Toy Soldiers, but I think the winner will be an unknown who really needs the exposure and $$$.



Anyone want to share some stoke? Predictions? Any idea who is putting out an entry?

I thought there was a clause and if there was maybe it's gotten changed that you couldn't use footage that's been dropped before? ..I feel a lot of edits have footy that's been in edits or in movies before..banger tricks nonetheless

Thank you for bringing this up my man.  I had some serious struggles getting footage together for this.  If I had been able to use old stuff it would've made life so much easier.

That being said, I'm not sure my chances would've been any better even with old shots ;)

I dont believe that is a rule, alot of the entries used "old" footage. If you did sick urban tricks last year, whether they were in a movie or not, they display your current skill. For guys like shay, Im not sure who he filmed with (if he filmed with anyone) but his normal crew wasn't doing what they did last year so to display his skill, he used shots from last year. I see no problem with using old shots, this isn't realsnow/realstreet or something where the video itself is the main thing, SU is more about the overall skill of the skier, not if the video is fresh or put together well, etc.

Weird that no one likes Anton's switch landings. They look fresh I think. Way staggered, carved, and I like the bent over, arm thing he does.

Those were just ridiculous, I feel like that Magnus guy should be filming with Stept. Hudson was crazy too and I thought it was cool he was riding an S4 and a Scratch. Also still hoping for another TSP guy to make it in.

Hudson's last shot was insane, don't think I've seen a wallride that big ever. Maybe Tom in Sunny but they're different setups.

Magnus using Maiden was awesome, cranked my speakers for that. Skiing was on point too, sick that he made it in with a 1 minute edit.

Looking back at Bulzan's entry, I think he should have definitely have been included in the finalists category. His urban was on par with Stept in terms of style, tricks, and sheer gnarly-ness. The rest of his entry was worthy of being a finalist, as well. He used similar features as that Hudson guy above, and utilized them better in my opinion. But hey, that's just my opinion. Level 1's is the only one that matters at this point. Obviously they are both incredibly skilled dudes and I'm happy to see the finalists ski Sun Valley.

I'm really impressed by all of these entries. Between the creativity, style, and variety I think that the Sun Valley segment will be one of the best segments of the year. Jakob and Shay Lee's are my favorite right now and I think Shay's stands out the most.

I got some insider info from a "finalist", and she said that they are re-building the dumont cube pipe, and the frostbite skibowl oppo tranny from last year. other than that prolly some down box's so the edoggo kids can contribute to the edit
