Personally I am always super stoked on this. Its actually my favorite skiing competition of the year. They also changed up the format and now the top 10 finalists all get an invite to the Sun Valley park shoot in april. Over the week level 1 will drop updates, and then will create a segment for the new movie. I think that this change in format is a great idea, and hopefully will help draw great talent and seperate the boys from the men.

I predict some entries from Hood Crew and Toy Soldiers, but I think the winner will be an unknown who really needs the exposure and $$$.



Anyone want to share some stoke? Predictions? Any idea who is putting out an entry?

I'm not gonna lie, I really think some of the semifinalists were much better than Hugo. Sick edit to be sure but not superior in any way to Bulzan and Hurst in particular.

Yeah...that's what I was thinking, he just looks so smooth at everything, almost reminded me a a lower energy Wallisch.

Hugo...I don't get it...The only 2 things I saw in that edit that were somewhat cool were the massive front 2 to stair set and the backflip off the building...other than that it was a spin to win huck fest....stuff I see almost every day at my small, local hill done by kids who can barely make it down said 600' of vertical...

Bulzan got robbed by Pelletier. Bulzan's was similar but had gnarlier urban and better jump tricks IMO. But that scandanavian guy definitely deserved to be a finalist.

I dont think you really say he got "robbed" , Hugo had some serious bangers in there. I wish Bulzan made it through too, but ive liked these last 2 edits more then any semi

i agree, i feel like hugo pelletier has been entering for years and its always the same kinda shit. he didnt spin blinside once without spinning frontside first

Jakob's definitely styling, but I really don't care about spinning on park rails and boxes. His jump game's on point, but the rest was uninspiring. Hugo does spin everything frontside, but he had some bad ass urban shots, plus he's from my ski hill so I'm stoked for him.

wasnt a fan of hugos edit. although he killed it i dont he will win superunkown. Pretty similar to most urban skiers these days i would even say a little bland and not creative plus he just doesnt seem like level 1 material

How can I have no clue what I'm talking about when it's my own opinion...there were a lot of sick tricks...but nothing I've never seen before (with the exception of that huge rail to stairset...but the reason that was sick was because of the feature, not necessarily because of the trick). Did I say his edit wasn't sick...no, cause it was (even though the ONLY blindside spin he through was during a kfed that he barely got around), hell I didn't even say he didn't deserve a spot...I simply said "I don't get it" cause I've seen kids who can barely make it down a small hill do the same tricks and honestly look better doing them. I've seen Hugo and Dom ski in person...it's not the most impressive thing I've ever seen...they're really good at throwing huge spins and big tricks...but, in my opinion, they don't look good doing them. It's just not the style of skiing I like, that's my opinion, sorry you disagree.

Two out of the 10 finalists have been released, and you are already arguing that a kid with an edit that is an entire park shoot should win. Thats fucking retarded.
How about you wait until the other edits get dropped before arguing over who should win, let alone letting all 10 of the finalists make it to Sun Valley to compete.

jakob's was sick, park skiing was on point, wish there was a little urban in there though. Hugo's i thought was good, but kinda got bored of watching after a little while, i think like he could left out the kfeds and a couple front 4's.

honestly i dont get why people are freaking out, i havent seen many people do 450's out of urban down rails, and it's not like they look like shit anyways. All his jump tricks have real good style also.

Although style is subjective, the difference that ive noticed up till now with the two finalists that have been realeased is that pretty much all the tricks look good, and i would not mind watching those people ski in a movie. I dont want to take anything away from all the semi-finalists, but some of them although doing some gnarly shit, didnt always have the best style doing it, or were either lacking jumps or rails, these 2 ahd both.
i dont care if jakob lindberg had no urban, cause he can definitley kill rails if he has to

I honestly dont care all that much about rails in this contest. If the top ten are all going to a jump shoot I want to see someone who will go and be insanely smooth on jumps.

Having seen Hugo ski at my local hill, he deserves a spot, his style is unreal and he may have a lot of similar type of tricks, they're still bangers and also his shots are from 2years ago because he didn't had shots really last season. And I've heard that he's killing it this year in the streets with Brotherhood.
