Randomly got an email that said my bindings have shipped but I didn't order bindings... tracking number says a pair of salomon guardians are gonna be at my door tomorrow. I didnt place an order, I have an account with the retailer but they dont have a credit card on file, and I have not been charged for the bindings on any of my cards. I need a new pair of bindings anyways so what should I do? Keep them and mount them up or let the retailer know they messed up?
The right thing to do would be tell them. But if you don't when whoever ordered the bindings tells the shop they never got there, I would imagine the shop would double check the address they mailed them to and see if they got delivered.
They would probably then contact you about it and if you had opened them already they're not gonna be happy about it. However, it was their mistake mailing them to you in the first place and I don't know if they can legally make you send them back.
How much do you like this retailer/how badly do you need new bindings?
Like the retailer and have bout TONS of gear from them before like multiple pairs of skis and bindings so part of me feels like they've gotten plenty of business from me. I also have a pair of skis waiting to be mounted and I was going to buy guardians for them anyways...
A similar situation happened to me with jiberish last year they sent me a peach nerd that i paid for and then sent me another one about a month later i contacted them and they said it was their mistake and let me keep the piece.
Yeh but their not your Guardians. Someone else may have ordered them in which they're definitely not yours, and your creating a real hassle for the shop and the guy who ordered them. Regardless however, their not yours.
By law, if you are sent something you did not order, it is considered a gift and they can't demand it back. If you did order something else you are still entitled to that as well.
