dont go for a bmx/skate helmet. it will look funny and isnt meant for the same kind of impacts. Your best bet is the smith aze if you want the same look.

The helmet which will be the most effective is the one which fits your head the best. Go try some on and make your decisions based on that, not what it looks like.

i have a POC and am very happy with it, but if it doesn't fit you its no good. Just go to a local shop and try a few and take the one that fits you best

Every helmet has to pass the same certifications in the USA, a poc might be 'safer' but there really ins't any way to prove it. Buy whatever fits you, toss it after a hard impact or after 2-4 years as the foam wears down. The inner part is what actually saves your head, when it's new its like a fresh baked bread, but after time it gets hard and crumbly.
