Where to go in Colorado?

So for my spring break my family and i have tickets to and from colorado fro the first week of march. Now we have to decide where to stay for that week. We were looking at aspen/snowmass, breck, and vail. Anyother good suggestions would be appreciated with reasoning, also, even better, would be name of hotels that have decent deals or lift packages. Anyways, I am just looking for suggestions for where to go and places to stay, snowmass is the farthest we are willing to go from denver. thanks

I went to Crested Butte the week before christmas. And it snowed the entire time and was insane.  The steeps still aren't all the way open but if they keep getting snow they should be.  Greattttttt ski town especially for a family, bus system, and all. Deff check it out

I personally like the vibe at Copper more than any other resort. The park is always fun, and never crowded. Plus you dont get the snobby touristy feel you get from the Vail Resorts.

Then, when your done riding, you can hop on over to Woodward and have a blast.

Nah its pretty well known, it has some of the best big mountain terrain in Colorado. The most well known Colorado resorts such as Vail, Keystone, and Breck can't compete with most other major western resorts in terms of terrain and snowfall, but they do have good parks. I'd recommend avoiding the I 70 areas and focusing on Crested Butte or Telluride, or go down south and hit up Wolf Creek (most snow, smaller, not great terrain, texans) and possibly Silverton.

I personally like vail. There's so much terrain and good snow. As far as loding, things can get pretty expensive in the valley there- especially around spring break. Go to VRBO.com for some rental condos and just email the owners and see if they have any room available.

It isn't super small and there is TONS of backcountry if you get a guide or snowmobile. but its deff not a lower resort! The parks weren't anything crazy cause DC doesn't sponser them anymore but some of the best extremes in CO without a doubt

Steamboat would be prime. Im assuming you are flying into denver, steamboat would be a haul from there though.

Stay at Keystone. Its about an hour from Denver which is always nice. It isn't usually very busy, and has some great terrain. If you want something new after skiing there a day or 2, hope on a free summit county bus, and it will drive you to Breckenridge which is only 15 minutes away, and you can access breck with the same pass as keystone. you can also get a ride to A-Basin, and even as far as Aspen I believe. Great value, and you have access to numerous mountains, so you get a taste of all the big names. Can't recommend it enough.

I personally think the best place to stay (regarding vail resorts) is in Silverthorne. It is pretty much the central hub for all summit county resorts.

It's a long drive but the San Juans are the best of Colorado.Most snow,Best terrain,Biggest mountains, best scenery,coolest towns, not huge expensive resorts (except for telluride) You can't go wrong there.

There's Hayden airport only 25 min from steamboat they have some direct flights from some cities. Also we have been geting some good snow that will make a fun good base for spring skiing.

There is some good terrain at wolfie, but you really need to dig and be patient. The Texans make the place that much better honestly. They are all fucking hilarious and never ski anything other than the stuff immediately around the treasure/raven lift.

Wolf Creek is an awesome place to be. Fly into Durango, stay in Pagosa, and have some fun. It's a completely different mindset at Wolf Creek. Take your time, hike around, enjoy the scenery, and ski some SUPER deep snow. The mountain is pretty flat until you get learn the mountain or just stop caring.

Also take a look at Monarch, Purgatory, and Telluride if you can afford it (though they have not been doing well for snow this year)

if your into big mountain, go to steamboat, crested butte, or wolf creek. stay away from vail resorts unless you want good park, otherwise their just too crowded...

Steamboat for sure, they just got 41" last week, ridiculous big mountain terrain and a pretty good park last time I was there, you won't regret that!

false. Although Keystone is my favorite, Aspen/Snowmass is not part of Vail Resorts. You cannot get a pass to any of Aspen's resorts off of a Vail Resorts pass. I'm a summit county kind of guy, so I would recommend Vail Resorts. You can get a pass giving you access to Keystone, A Basin, Breck, Beaver Creek, and Vail. Hands down the best deal. Aspen is a bit expensive to stay at but Snowmass is pretty sick. Breck's park this year is decent, they just opened the jumps on I70 at A51 at Keystone. Keystone has by far more terrain in their park then any of the other vail resorts. However, Vail has the most snow. Just got back from Snowmass and it was sick this year. I love snowmass but the town of Aspen is kind of snoody. Definitely fun while everyone is around for the X Games tho. GET THE VAIL RESORTS PASS. 5 Mountains, hands down your best deal.

I'd advise against Aspen. It's so pretentious and beyond expensive. On top of that it's always so crowded you get very few runs in (from what I've heard, never actually skied it). Unless you and your family are of the lite of the elite class, I'd say it's a no go.

Breck is an amazing resort for all abilities. It's still pretty pricey, but cheaper than Aspen or Vail. The town is cool and the mountain is big enough to spread out the crowds on most days.
