I had a pair of Line Invaders two seasons ago. Those skis had so many deep cap chips. Some revealed the wood color below the cap, but none striked all the way through the fiberglass layer.
I rode those things hard. Mounted 2.5 times and sold them to another user on this board who still rides them. I honestly wouldn't worry about. Chances are, a ski slapping the top sheet or cap of opposing ski won't ever carry enough force to constitute as a "core shot."
I might post some pictures of my abused Invaders later on (second full season on 'em). That will put your mind at ease.
