K2 Recoils durable?

The sidewall is cut up after a a few days of skkiing. Specifically, the urethane of the sidewall was sticking out, so I ripped it off. SHould I fill the hole with p-tex?

Has anyone else had this prolblem with this specfic ski?

my buddy has the recoils. he is on his 28th day of skiing and he pounds them hard. he has not had any problems at all. they do come with warrenty so maybe you should look into that? if your warrenty is up then yes you should fill it in with p tex so water doesnt get into it and freeze and pop even more of it out. hope this helped and good luck man

My recoils have been holding up great, K2 makes bomber skis. I would contact K2 about it.

i got an edge crack only after 3 days of use, so I'm bummed on that, does that happen with k2's?

Edge cracks happen on a lot of skis within the first few days. If you due tune them properly it won't happen?

I mean I may be over protective of my skis, however it seems that the core is vulnerable. Specifically, I fell off a rail and my two skis made contact. The edge of one of the skis chipped the sidewall. I'll have to check about the warranty because i got them at skis.comm.

Detuning has absolutely nothing to do with edge cracks. They happen because of impact with rails and boxes.
I have Domains, and I have small sidewall cuts exactly as described, but they're pretty small and not deep, so I don't give a shit. This stuff just kinda happens with sidewall skis.

Yes I use my Volkl Walls for urban and park and my Recoils for groomers and what sucks is my recoils have never even hit a rail and they have top sheet delam and chipping...fill it with p-tex also!!

p tex is for bases

use marine epoxy for anything else
