Bud light is trash.

Budweiser is trash.

They (AB) buy brands rip the soul out of making beer and start brewing their inferior product in St Louis.

if "real americans" (presumably the trailer trash that drink AB products) knew that their "real american" beer was owned by a Brazilian company would they revolt?

Beer should be brewed with passion, and originality, beer should NOT BE AN INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT.

Yes, the super bowl and the incessant advertising by AB has rustled my jimmies.

I am pretty sure that is 99% of big companies.
Gone are the days of producing a good product, now you produce a good company, that means decent products that break. Better yet, cheap products you can sell for a lot then break.
There is no profit from a product that lasts a life time and doesn't break. (Or in this case a product you can sell cheaply, make even cheaper, and still million of units are sold per day)

beer to me is an art. i dont want a beer thats the same in Minnesota as it is in Utah. I want a beer thats original.

at the risk of sounding very hipster. its all about local beers that have soul. I enjoy cheap beer almost as much as i enjoy more expensive beer, but both can be original and local.


to the one guy, ive only had one sam adams in my life, it was good, but i dont anticipating purchasing any in the near future.

yeah, it's all about the micro-brews these days. the only time i drink "regular" beer is when I'm out on the boat and then it's coors light all day. they taste like water which isn't a bad thing when it's 100+ degrees.

but yeah, for the most part all mass produced beer sucks.

I cant think of the last major beer company purchase Ive made, aside from Goose Island, which I think may be owned by InBev but BCS is just too delicious to pass up.

just cause you buy craft beer doesn't mean you maybe aren't supporting AB.

AB distributes for quite a few craft beer. (each distributor is different) example in seattle we distribute for ninkassi, 10 barrel, american, elysian, red hook, etc

And yes goose island is owned by AB but awesome beer.

True, but I would assume that there is a pretty big difference in profits between breweries owned by AB/InBev and those that are simply distributed by them. i may be totally wrong there though.

But theres still countless local breweries, IPAs, craft beers etc. And by having a streamlined, efficient businees like AB ( as well as bulk producing) we're able to enjoy cheap beer that wont make you go blind. Are you saying that you wish there was cheap, locally brewed stuff?

I'm not sure the profit differences but just think it's important for people to know that a lot of these "small" breweries are often working/partners with the big beer companies like AB and Miller.

couldnt agree more. everywhere the camera went during the game i saw a logo of theirs and half the commercials were theirs. the beer they make is shit and cheap. sounds more chinese than american...

What's your take on the ski industry then? Lets look at skis, ski building is an art, correct? Some skis are built on the mass scale, such as k2, line, etc...big name companies, while others are built on a smaller scale, such as Moment, ON3P, etc...smaller name companies, while others are built in some guys barn in the middle of nowhere and have no name whatsoever, just skis that work.

Regarding your want to have beer not be the same in Minnesota vs. Utah, would you want skis to be different in every state, city, county? For example, if you lived in Nevada, you could only buy Moment, or if you lived in Oregon, you could only buy ON3P, unless you went incredibly out of your way to have a special delivery? If beer was like that it would put a dent in the industry.

We need mass produced beer for the man on a buget, or the common college kid, and we need local beers to keep the art of making beer alive.

Large monopoly squanders competitive market. AB produces fake or wannabe craft beers and makes it harder for smaller businesses to enter the market because AB controls the prices. More mass production of cheap beer = fewer local brewers keeping the art alive.

Also the ski to beer analogy makes no fucking sense.

And I really don't care but I don't hold bud on any kind of pedestal like some people. I'll take it with my keystones miller and whatever else is cheap at the store or 1$ on lot.

I have no problem with people drinking bud, but it's retarded that people think it's some special beverage that's worth double the price of keystone and other shitty watered down berrrrs.

I'll get hate for this, but I'll say it anyway. I don't drink Bud light or Budweiser or really any of those big names, however Bud light Platinum is an awesome beer. It's higher content, lower calorie and really damn smooth. It just came out in Canada last week too.

This man knows what the fuck is up. Top rated beer on beeradvocate.com and it is fucking DELICIOUS. I drink AB beer because it's ridiculously cheap, but I also drink a shit ton of local brews as well, they just get a little expensive at times, especially since I'm still in college.

Probably not because people old enough to actually care, remember it happening a few years ago and it was kind of a big deal. So I'm just going to assume most people are aware of this. Not to mention it's still made in America, by Americans, with American money going into American pockets... dont really see why your panties are in a twist about who owns the company.
