This. Just spend a few days in the park and decide if its right for you. If you don't like it no harm no foul it's not for everyone. Be prepared for failure, frustration, falls and bumps and bruises.

If you're starting out skiing in the park take it really easy and have some fun! Let it come easy, don't force anything.

Start learning "sideways" and learn 50 50's (going strait on) on boxes. Boxes should be the first thing you hit as the are the most forgiving. Here, there are two cross roads. Learn all basic tricks ie. lip and normal and 270's etc, and master them all on a box and then move onto another feature like corrugated and master it, and do it on and on until you master all basic tricks on everything and yea. The second option is that you learn normal on normal off and master them on all features ie, rails and corrugated pipe and then when you master the trick try to master another trick in the same way. You obviously don't have to learn like that but I would suggest doing it like this. Also, do scissors to balance on rails. Last, learn how to ride switch at a good level before learning park so landing switch isn't awkward, and learn all switch tricks a long with all your basic tricks because in the end you will regret not learning switch tricks along your basic tricks.

This is all really good advice, I would just add learning switch tricks almost as soon as you learn the "regular" versions of them, it will help your low and learning curve not having to revert back to regular and slow down.

do not stop in the landings of jumps/rails. dats bad

throw a triple cork 1980 off your first jump then you will have no problem doing anything else

1) learn how to go sideways on boxes.

Scratch up on terminology, watch some videos so you can understand the differences between the spins. Also, join the trick tip cult and read the stickies on there, that may give you a little bit of an understanding of what you're doing.

what are scissors?

its when u use your skis to kind of grip the box or rail by putting pressure on the box on the side. u shud look it up.
