So Ruby Hill has been super fun. Free. Boxes and rails in denver right off S Platte River Drive and Florida Ave. Me and some friends have been shredding there on the regular at night. Open 11am to 9pm. SFC has some event going on Tuesday night. If you live in Denver lets shred.
Just went there for the first time for a couple hours earlier tonight. Lots of fun and nice people! Was today really the last day? It looked like it could stay open for at least another week.
Went there today with my kids and they had already pulled all the features. Then they groomed it flat. I was begging them to at least leave a little roller or something. They said that they close because they can't get enough volunteers. That has to be the biggest crock of shit ever. I would go out and prep things a few times a week to keep it nice and I have a great shovel that basically does the work of a scoop shovel and a rake. There is plenty of snow left on the hill. You could drag your own features over there. I'd bring my stuff if someone has a truck and they could pick up and drop off. I'm not leaving my stuff there, but anyone would be welcome to hit them up. I have a 12" diameter PVC pipe, a flat box that can be plugged in and lights up like a disco floor, and I can probably get ahold of a dub barrel PVC Rail. So bummed that they broke this down this soon. Doesn't make any sense.
I think their exposure is just about as bad when they groom out the hill and people are sledding down it all the way to the concrete barriers. Oh well, it's not like my bitching is going to make them put everything back.
