I am looking for a full tang 4-5" fixed blade for camping/general mountaineering. I have a Benchmade Contego that I carry in my flight suit, but I am sketched out about using a folding knife for splitting kindling, smacking with a beater stick, or basically anything that could end with me folding it on my hand one day. Some brands I've liked in the past are Benchmade, Ontario, and Spyderco. I had a SOG and a Gerber I thought were so so but I'm interested in looking at anything you guys like.
I want something burly as shit, can hold an edge so I don't have to sharpen it every day, and either won't break or has an exceptional warranty. Money isn't really a big deal. What do you guys like?
