what I do is I run a metal file down the length of the ski, once perpendicular to the edge and once parallel. Then I take a sand-sponge and run that down the edge again to get rid of any burrs/clean it up a bit more. Seems to work for me, and is really simple to do
just take a file to under foot then use sand paper or a gumm stone to remove burs, pretty simple leave the tips and tails so they still function around the mountain
take a metal file... run it at a 45 degree angle to the edge i.e. obviously dulling it/rounding it underfoot... I like to be aggressive with this because a sharp edge is far more likely to break on impact i.e. disasters etc... finish it out with a gummy stone to get out burrs
