4runner or Xterra

Which is the superior SUV and why? The 4runner is 04 and the xterra is 07. And is the xterra 4wd a pain to use in snow? It sounds like you have to be going below 25 to shift to shift into 4 wehl drive and you can't go above 55.

I too chose between these two cars, and I went 4runner. Really glad I did, chicks don't like Xterras.

I really like the 3rd gens. I've got a 97 with manual transmission. On the off chance someone knows where I can get SR5 flares like the one above ^^^ that would be awesome.


I cleaned a couple of 4th gens at work (used to do detail) and the interiors are really nice, but thats all I know about them besides that they look kinda cool.

I had an 04 XTerra for a couple years and it was sick as fuck, personally did not have any maintenance issues and it was awesome in the snow

Defenders were only imported into the US between '93 and '98. '93 was the only year the 110s were brought in as well (all other years it was only the 90). They all came with V8 petrol engines as well (no diesels). I've never seen one that was reasonably priced.

You are right. I thought prices would have gone down, but I can't find anything less than 13000 even with the undesirable models.

It sucks, man. North America has been shafted out of Diesel Defenders, Hiluxes, and 70 Series Land Cruisers (70, 74, 75, 78) among many, many others. So Stupid.

The 70 series Troopy (FJ78) would be the SICKEST ski vehicle. 4.4 TD V8, 5 spd manual, seats 11 and fits all the gear.

Get a 4Runner dude but do yourself a favor and get like a '99 4Runner. I had mine for about 3 years and the thing beasted. It was during my years of idiocy and I put that thing through everything and I mean everything. Driving up mountains with no trails, going 80 on NH highways in dumping snowstorms, crashed it a couple times, and drove that engine into the ground.
Long story short, the car is awesome and it lasted through 3 years of solid car hell.
