Honestly its god awful to watch no style, no manoeuvrability and those things arent made for tricks.

Yes it is absolute shit and extremely stupid. Hands down the worst event at x-games.

PS. Caleb Moores death is irrelevant. It is very tragic and sad he died but that doesn't mean the OP has to silence his opinion that he think the sport is shit. He said it while he was alive im assuming, so why does it make any difference now that hes dead?

Not to mention it's outright stupid. Heaving a 400+ pound machine into a position over your head while you are moving towards the ground is not a smart thing to do, even as far as action sports/x games go.

Holy shit s just because Caleb died and im typing this post you think im disrespecting him. Why should I have to post? Im criticisng a sport im not saying anything bad about Caleb in anyway and his loss saddens me.

All im saying this sport is very boring to watch its downgrade version of motocross. these machines are not designed to be flipped and i honestly think this sport is way too dangerous.

Skis weren't origanally meant to be worn to do flips and doing flips on skis is downright dangerous. It doesn't stop us since we enjoy the sport. I feel like snowmobilers are the same way. OP you just got to look at from a new persepective. I'm not sure how many snowmobilers there are in Ireland but I live in Maine and its a whole other lifestyle here.

worst comparison possible.

skis-light, flexible, attached to your feet, and meant to pop off if they're being twisted beyond their limit.

snowmobile-literally none of the above, plus weighs several hundred pounds.

It's cool to watch and everything, but if you lose it on skis and drop straight onto your head, at least that's it. On a sled, you fall straight onto your head...then a 500 pound snowmobile falls onto you.

it is somewhat silly. I get sketched flying thru the air with a couple extra lbs on my feet (boots/skis).........don't need to be flinging around 400+ lbs. snomo freestyle makes more sense than motox on snow though.....just sayin.

I agree that everyone is entitled to there own opinion and you do have a valid argument. But I don't see the reason of hating on something that someone loves to do, in this case snowmobile freestyle.

It's totally fine having an opinion and saying something like, "their performance and tricks don't really appeal to me." Instead of just straight up, " it's god aweful with no style and looks like shit." That's just disrespectful.

i dont think you're anyone to tell someone what they can and can't do. these athletes know the risks associated with their sport and freely accept them. thats the price of adventure. if someone wants to throw themselves off a cliff with nothing to break their fall, let them, so long as they aren't harming the general public and/or others.

There is a thread for condolences to Caleb Moore, but this thread is about freestyle snowmobiling. And obviously people on newschoolers aren't going to trash skiing when CR died. This is a skiing website.

As for freestyle snowmobiling, I don't know... I've always kind of viewed it as a knock off of freestyle moto. They do pretty much the same tricks but are more limited by having a sled. im fine with people doing it though. It can be entertaining to watch at x games once a year.

If a soccer player died and some said I dont like soccer but RIP 'X player' people would not go your disrespecting his death. Main point saying a whole sport sucks does not disrespect someone.

Its just disrespectful. This thread should have been posted last weekend, why you felt the need to do it the day he dies is why people are upset.
