Atomic Punx or K2 Domain

I am 5'9'' 135 and i ski in new york. mostly hard pack. small mountain. i spend 90 percent of my time in the park hitting rails and jumps, normally nothing over 40 feet. i just wanted to know what would be more durable? i have heard some good things about both skis. thanks homies

Probably the Domains. You'll be beating them up pretty hard, making that assumption off the fact you're skiing in New York. They'll be good, mostly for rails and whatnot though. They will perform on jumps, but you may notice a small difference between what you are skiing now.

I havent skied the domains or punx myself but from what i have heard i know the punx are more flexible and they are extremely durable you can see how durable they are http://www.youtube.com/user/RealSkifi

If your main priority is durability then i would check out k2's website because i know they have a ski with rubber sidewalls under foot to protect from gashes, if you are set on domains or punx...punx

I have the domains, and they are bombproof, and super flexy. Also amazing for rails because of the jib rocker and I have gone off 40 foot jumps without a problem on them, I would highly suggest getting a pair, there the most playful ski I've ever used

I have the Domains and wow.... I'm 5'9" and have the 169 (pretty much like 173) and im 145 pounds and there so perfect. Medium flex and soo durable. The only thing I don't like is the no camber, so they're not that poppy on jumps. Haven't skiied the punx

6'3 180 and i love the punx. really stable and crazy poppy whenever you want them to be, yet i can literally ride around on flatter terrain completely pressing past the binding into nose or tail butters. they are also by far the lightest park ski i have ever had, and i've had a lot of park skis over the years haha. i don't know about the domains or the comparative durability of either but i know atomic has a 2 year warranty on the punx. i think you should ask whether you want a rockered park ski or not because i'm guessing durability wise they are pretty similar.

i thought my domains were more durable but i liked the punx more. id suggest some filthys, best of both worlds imo

yeah this guy is completely wrong. Domains are so flexible, like a noodle. very playful and ski short. Punx are medium flex and more stable. both are really durable from what i could tell. personally i preferred the punx just cause they're much much more stable. domains are fun but not something i would ever ski day in and day out, whereas punx i would.

I have the exact same question.. Which one will be more durable? I don't hit very big jumps, but I just destroyed some afterbangs and want skis that will last me awhile. I am leaning twoards the domains, but still have'nt made up my mind. Any other thoughts?

Both are durable, both are jib skis, both can perform well on jumps, to an extent, and both are $450. The Domain ski's longer, contrare to what the gentleman above me said. A lot of Atomic athletes love the Punx, and a lot of K2 athletes love the Domains. Personal preference, it almost comes down to which graphic you want lol. Both are awesome Personally I'd chose the Domains.

if you're doing big jumps go with punx. don't even think twice. as for what the above person said, they are pretty different skis. so its not about which graphic you like better. one is rocker, one is camber. one is medium flex, one is soft flex. not to mention that the domains are wider underfoot.

From riding both, the only noticeable differences is the width, and flex (to an extent). The rocker is nice I'm sure, but a large portion of Park Ski's now are.

you really won't. listen to who you want, I'm sure different people have different opinions on them. but for me they skiied very differently. Domains ski so short cause the contact points are really close together, zero camber and very early rise in tips and tails. punx are true camber and medium flex . so pretty oposite.

Thanks man, it's just a hard decision, the punx only have a 2.3 mm edge and I hit a lot of rails, do you think I will get edge cracks?

i mean i never had any problems, haven't heard of anyone who has with punx. no matter what skis you do get its always a good idea to file down the edges before hitting rails though, this helps prevent cracking.
