I just want to go ahead and vote Henrik for president.

Sure, he slayed it at X and took the big air Gold with a damn progressive trick. Fantastic. Lots of guys have done that in the past.

However, Henrik hasn't been at Breck since it opened training every day with the top elite... working with his personal trainer and trying to get his winning attitude on.... no...

Henrik has been skiing at the most fucked up shitty hills in the universe with B-dog and B-paul. Hills like the ones I grew up at - hills where the real skiers are. The ones of us on the east or in the midwest that don't have 12" of fresh powder to get us up in the morning, the ones of us who are truly the 'core' of the sport. The ones who have to love skiing so much just to go out and have a good time on 200' of vertical.

Henrik has been travelling around with the Inspired crew in a van, riding with all the rad people out there - probably many of you from Newschoolers.

I have the deepest respect for the Inspired crew and what they are doing here. I mean look at this stuff - http://inspireddemotour.com/ - that is just passion personified right there.

So again - Mr. Harlaut, I salute you sir. Well played.

Ok so you're telling me it's a bad thing that a guy who gets kids at shitty mountains stoked is worse than a park jock who only skis for the personal glory? That a "I train to win" guy is something that we should worship? No. I root for the guy who keeps it real, gets kids stoked, and is in the game to get others pumped on the sport we all love. Case closed.

What I'm saying is Henrik is fairly selfless with the whole inspired demo tour. He's getting everyone pumped while pipe jocks are in it to try and make themselves win.

Holy shit you are fucking retarded man? I never said what henrik was doing is a "bad" thing, in fact my point/post doesn't even address. It simply addresses the simple fact that the fucking FOUNDER of NS just stereotyped every single "park jock" simply ski's for fame and glory and not because they love skiing and want to push themselves.

I hate to break it you bud but being a "pro skier" is actually pretty shitty occupation with regards to the pay to risk ratio. This isn't the NBA or the NFL where there are people who do it just because they want to get rich. So no people don't do it for the reasons your insinuating, they become a professional skier because they just have a love for skiing.

Oh well midterms are upon me so I'm going to actually go study, instead of chatting. Finally got to meet him today and honestly he makes me want to be a happier person! He's always smiling. He's never annoyed with fans. He genuinely loves what he does. So much respect for him

I met him today! I skied with him and his group for 2 and a half hours at my 250 ft vertical hill in the rain in Michigan. He is such a boss, and I really respect him for all that he has done. He skis because he loves it, not for the money or the fame. Really is a great guy.

What you don't get is that this sport was born out of the need to break away from regimented training and conformity, something that the people who train for comps constantly seem to be moving towards very quickly.

Seeing people get into hardcore training regiments for this sport is kinda sad. I guess if they really enjoy it it's ok, to each their own, but it's nice to see the man with the biggest smile and the most heart and love for skiing go home with the gold.

Skiing's supposed to be fun for fucks sake. It's not something to do because it's cool or makes you famous. Henrik is out preaching our sport's gospels to the youth of the sport instead of busting his ass training. Why? Because homeboy loves this sport as much as anyone on earth. He doesn't spend all his time trying to win contests, no, he spends his time making sure people have as much fun skiing as he does.

He shows that true talent and passion for the sport can still persevere in the face of gymnasts with 50k a year trainers that couldn't make turns in 10" of fresh if their lives depended on it.

What they did was such a awesome event for them to vist the mountains and see the local riders who don't get recognized and to go out and ride with them is truly one of the greatest things that has happen in the history of freeskiing.

Couldnt agree more !!! Supporting real local hills in east coast instead of practicing for xgames makes a huge difference and shows that he do it for love and good of the sport! And still without months of trainning he shows the other pros how the job is done! Congrats to inspired crew for sharing the love to all the ski family

I went to Woodward while henrik was a coach. He was a hilarious, and overall great guy. Always happy and always a positive dude. Great coach as well

I've always looked up to Henrik for always having fun when he skis and not caring what other people think. Sure his outerwear is sometimes crazily baggy, or he turns his goggles backwards and jets down slopes with no poles smiling, dreads flowing all over, or that he barks at the cameras and spews Wu everywhere. The guy just does whatever he wants and has fun with skiing, and is definitely a good role model for kids to learn how to be an individual, in my opinion.

He's an unserious skier in a culture that's growing more serious all the time. We need more skiers like him.
