I just want to go ahead and vote Henrik for president.

Sure, he slayed it at X and took the big air Gold with a damn progressive trick. Fantastic. Lots of guys have done that in the past.

However, Henrik hasn't been at Breck since it opened training every day with the top elite... working with his personal trainer and trying to get his winning attitude on.... no...

Henrik has been skiing at the most fucked up shitty hills in the universe with B-dog and B-paul. Hills like the ones I grew up at - hills where the real skiers are. The ones of us on the east or in the midwest that don't have 12" of fresh powder to get us up in the morning, the ones of us who are truly the 'core' of the sport. The ones who have to love skiing so much just to go out and have a good time on 200' of vertical.

Henrik has been travelling around with the Inspired crew in a van, riding with all the rad people out there - probably many of you from Newschoolers.

I have the deepest respect for the Inspired crew and what they are doing here. I mean look at this stuff - http://inspireddemotour.com/ - that is just passion personified right there.

So again - Mr. Harlaut, I salute you sir. Well played.

Had about an hour car ride to talk to Henrik. It was cool to see how he prepared for X. First off, saturday was the first time he has ever tried a tripple. Lets get that clear. People thought that he was "saving" it, but really, it was a heat of the moment thing. Secondly, he was in NY and shitty EC mountains just a few days before the X games. I highly doubt there were even jumps to try doubles on in NY. He is in Michigan today meeting up with the inspired crew again. He took a flight out early this morning, and is riding hills out here tomorrow. Pretty dedicated if you ask me. Wins 2 very decorated events and leaves at 3 A.M. The night the comp ends.

Curious, i saw you that day...howd you like peek n peak? I had a fucking riot with them later in the night. Henriks the coolest dude in the world. He taught me and a couple buddies how to properly butter..gahhhhh soo awesome. Those 3 guys are what skiing all about.


But wish i could have lapped with you for a few runs..saw you hit a jump then i lost you hahaha

Henrik is such a cool guy, and is absolutely loving the tour. He was such a great guy to talk to and ride with, and is just as stoked as all the kids tagging along. Even my non skier friends say he's definitely the coolest kid in the world.

And he's fucked up at good skiing. It was embarrassing to drop after him.

Personally though I think the best part of this whole thing is that it ISN'T embarassing to drop after him. The inspired crew are there to ride with you and everyone is just fucking stoked on skiing.

Truly its a thing of beauty.

Oh definitely! I didn't feel like I was being judged one bit, in fact they want to watch and cheer people on. I just felt like quitting when he did the sickest butter 1's and 3's train i've ever seen down 4 jumps. It was too cool.

He can do that because he's so good. But not everybody can. There are plenty of less naturally talented pros, who need training and can't just mess around on a demo tour. And what's wrong with that?

I think the main point is that Henrik didn't care if he won or loss, he's just out to have a good time and share the stoke. I think that is a rad attitude.

Not to mention he focuses on style more than anything. The fact that he can do these huge tricks and put SOO much style in is what really pushes him ahead of the field.

after meeting the crew, especially edollo up in NY at Greak Peak I had a total new respect for those guys. The mountain was just an ice rink with a couple backyard rails, but these guys just shredded and were so amped on everyone that was also skiing that day. It was amazing being able to be in their presence and then to see a few weeks later that same guy go on to rape the big air.

I like the fact that there's probably only 30-40 skiers that can even do butter single corks and henrik is still two flips ahead of those people. His athleticism is really just directly sourced from his absolute passion for skiing. Which is awesome.

So true. Wallisch is still my favorite but the way Henrik is able to literally do what he loves and spending time with the kids who are dying to meet all the stars out in the west, by coming to us in the east, is amazing.

i'm nowhere near the level of doing double or even single corks properly and have never done a butter off a kicker but i really wonder would a nosebutter make it so much harder? i feel as if it actually sets the rotation out of its own and in some way makes it even more natural and flowy so perhaps also easier ? or am i really fucking stupid for thinking this ?
