Full Tilt Issues

I already posted this in the gear talk section, but its not getting too many responses, so I figured it would get more exposure here.
A few weeks ago I went to get the classics, but the boot fitter I was at,didn't have them in my size. So I ended up with the twall's. This boot fitter has an extremely good reputation and is well known through out the ski community.
Bottom line is, that I am getting pain on the side of my foot. I skied a few days on them, and they were unbearable. The pain on the side of my foot (at the widest part) is insane! I almost had tears in my eyes after a few runs. I brought them back, they punched out the side a little, and ground out the shell a little. I tried them again yesterday, and while its a tad bit better. I am still getting pain on the side of my foot. I can't bring them back to the same boot fitter because I don't live in Colorado. Any suggestions? They are sized correctly, but I guess the shape of the side of my foot doesn't agree with the shape of the shell. Any help would be much appreciated.

it's not like the classics would have fit you any better, those are the same shells with different tongues. your feet don't fit full tilts well, just get different boots.

should have gotten the booter. sounds like u have a wider foot and the booters are for wider feet. i have them and love them

Try making the buckle across the foot looser I had the same problem on my full tilts and that solved the issue almost instantly. Even now I have to adjust the buckles according to the conditions, some days they will just kill until I get the fit right. Honestly though that buckle really isnt THAT important and you can have it really loose

No. I tired on about 5 different pair of boots. And I don't have wide feet.

Ive had the same thing in my double sixes (wich i won) i Just cried for 3 days and after that the pain was over:)

do you have footbeds? it sounds like they fit fine when you try them on, yet when you wear them skiing they start to hurt. that is because your feet arent properly stabalized, and are allowed to pronate (change shape, get wider/longer) in the shell. get some good footbeds and that will probably solve your problems

One question I came up with recently is, when a boot company wants to sponsor an athlete but said athlete does not fit into the company's boots, what happens? I also thought it was a little weird how Henrik Harlaut went from skiing Salomon Spk's to Full Tilt Classics. Everyone says that these boots are so different, and that one person will never fit into a different companies boots, but pros do this all the time. I can think of many examples. Just a couple questions I had. Could I get an answer?

they probably get the best bootfitters on the planet because they're pros. they make the boots fit.

Yes, but a bootfitter cannot alter the shape of the ski boot.

just man up.

i ordered full tilts off another NSer and they were molded to his feet. the first 2 weeks owning them was brutal. i ended up wearing them around the dorm (while it was INCREDIBLY painful) just to break them in a little bit. skied them for like 3 super painful days, and now they fit extremely well, they're comfy, and i'm painfree.

I dunno..I have had many different brands of ski boots, and I have never felt this much pain.

Again my feet are actually narrow. No wide feet here. So I just tried them on again and made the bottom buckle looser and no dice. Actually my right foot is 90% ok. It's my left foot that's the problem. I had them on for about an hour walking around the house. At first no pain, then after about 30 min the pain started again on the side of my left foot.
After I took the boots off, the side of my left foot, where the pain is, is extremely red and iratated.

Alright so far suggestions consist of maning up, full tilt booters, dalbellos, loosening the bottom buckle, and foot bed.

i used to have the same problem, just not as bad. got it punched out a bit and after a while it felt better. then i added footbeds and my boots feel amazing. like i can wear them all day without even a single problem. and i went through a two week period where i wore ski boots more than regular shoes and never encountered an issue

Full Tilts need to be broken in so they might get better over time but they might not. They might just not fit you.
