Seems every year there is no one riding lines. I'm really surprised and confused no one line sponsored was in the x games. Not even LJ was invited. Anyone else hear me?
Exactly, its not that Line couldn't afford it, it's just not their style. It's not like they need it anyway, they are probably the most popular park-ski-only brand behind Armada.
Line doesn't really seem to go for the "big names" persay. They tend to sponsor people who are relatable to the average skier. (TC for example,) that are still doing sick stuff, but in a way that is more "realistic," if you know what I mean?
I feel like that is part of the reason why the TC crew (basically all of Line skiers have been featured at some point) is such a hit. Sure the skiing is still insane, but its not on perfectly build, monstrous x-games jumps in Colorado, most of TC's best moments have been in pretty average parks or regions, which makes the episodes far more relatable and inspiring to skiers who aren't from the sickest locations or whatever.
Totally agree with OP and Joshua. I rock lines and am at times disappointed to never see one of my own in the x games etc but then again they keep it non mainstream and still insane
Are you kidding me? Is the only skiing content you see the xgames? Line has had athletes in like every major movie and between TC and and Nimbus are also probably one of the most prevalent ski brands in ski webisode series. And not being in the xgames doesnt mean someone doesn't compete, xgames is like the top 15 skiers in the world . it sounds like the only dew tour coverage you receive is the finals runs that make tv. LJ has been in every dew tour for like the last 3 years that he wasn't hurt for and niklas eriksson has definitely competed a ton too. Sounds like the only skiing you watch is from nbc or espn
The first Line pros (Eric Pollard, Mike Nick, Mike Wilson and Skojen Sprang (sp)) where the only sponsored guys for like 5 or 6 years straight. Most of them are big mountain skiers.
Line is everywhere on the mountain here, all the kids on the Freeride team seem like they have a pair of Chronics for park and a pair of Pollards for powder.. Line may not have the comp scene on lock but they're still way more represented than most brands here. Plus Whiteford lives and skis here
