He just fucking reverted his landing and still got a 95, why the hell do they keep doing this, if another no name rookie snowboarder did that they would be docked so many points, this "advertisment" that Shaun White is, is really starting to tick me off
Even with a revert his run was still far more technical than anyone elses, and had way better amplitude. Hopefully someone can really challenge him but I doubt it...
Idk that run was pretty fucking crazy. Plus he boosted 22' out of the pipe!? Thats so much higher than anyone else in the field. This Hirano guy is such a G though!
Maybe this is a stupid question, but why do they have to do a straight air for their first hit? I've looked all over and never found a ruling or statement that explains why. Do you guys know? I realize it's likely that obvious answer is obvious.
I'm not positive but I think they are required to do a straight air at some point in the run to show "control"...Also, that kid absolutely should have been in 1st after that run. Giving White a 95 is ridiculous.
his amplitude is fucking nuts, he's absurdly smooth, and had the most technical run. No matter who was doing it it was definitely 5 points better than lago's so 95 makes sense.
I can understand this. While it seems a little lame to limit the first hit it is kind of neat to see how high they boost.. If Simon were required to straight air he would fly over that RedBull measurement tower-thing.
I still think the coolest thing about this event was a 14 yr old Japanese kid boosting 19' out of the pipe throwing down a baller run and getting a 92. So dope
