Sugarloaf the best park in the east?

At the moment, Sugarloafs park crew has got it on lock and they have produced one of the sickest the mountains ever had. I've heard that Sunday River and Loon currently aren't the best they could be. I know Sugarbush has been providing well this past month but I thought we were a bit better. I haven't heard about Killington or Waterville yet and I was wondering what the deal is.

Possibly for rails, but I have friends doing comps right now there and they say the jumps are barely, well jumps.

Waterville is on point. Jumps on skiers Left(?) are being made bigger I think, they just opened their medium park, and should be reworking the bottom of the park.

Don't underestimate saddleback. It may not have jumps the size as the big names or the technicality, but Saddleback's park is as fun as any.

Yes I'm not, I have a friend who skis there and from what I've seen from the stuff hes shown me it looks mad fun, I just don't know enough about it really. I might be going up this year as well.

I can vouch that the Sunday river park is not up to par, no big jumps and a majority of features are not always in great condition, if OP is right, I might have to make the trip up

Once Cranmore gets the Director's Cut open, I'd even throw their name down. They seem to have made a couple new really awesome rails for this year, and The Alley is on point from what I saw, so is the Reel. Seems a bit hard to really say which park is the best, but yeah, I heard Haywire and they Stomping Grounds got a really good start.

sugarloafs park is good at the moment, but it is nowhere close to loon. There "big" jump line consists of 3 jumps that are about the same size as loons medium jump line. Loon has 2 fully functioning parks with +15 jumps spanning from 10 feet to 50+ feet. all their rails are professionally set up and creative, sugarloafs rails were not even comparable when i went a few weeks ago. I love the loaf but its park scene is not comparable to loons

I think it's definetly worth the trip. In case you guys are wondering here's a look at some of the features we got. (most of these are in our bigger park we also have a smaller park but it's just as gnarly that runs into the jump line for the bigger one.

I agree saddleback is a ton of fun. If you get to know everyone in the park and just hot lap it. it's so fun. and they have good food!

SR is alright, if Rocking Chair is open this weekend it should be back up there. Right now its either the Loaf or Sugarbush or Waterville Valley.

Was just at sugarbush, park was extremely creative. However if your looking for something more conventional I'd recommend going elsewhere.

Killington has been sub-par this year... not sure about this weekend, but previously they've only had Timberline open. Don't get me wrong, timberline is really fun to lap, but there's nothing bigger than a 20 foot table on the entire mountain.

Once they get dream maker up and running, it will be a different story entirely (I hope)

Saddleback is killing it this year. Yes, all of you high and supreme folks that ski at sugarloaf or sunday river may not agree, but for what they are given they have created a FANTASTIC park, so fun to ride. Heres the most recent park video.

Like I said, it looks really fun and I can't wait to get up this year. By best park I just meant that it was the most on point with the most to offer with a wide range of features, not in terms of how fun it is. But it is ridiculously fun.

Lost Vally's got them all beat.
For reals though, I favor Sugarloaf or saddleback. both parks are always in great condition no matter what

Can't speak to most of the parks mentioned above since I haven't hit them since early season if at all, but Mount Snow certainly has one of the best park setups going right now in new england.  They were blowing snow like crazy on Inferno so we'll finally get some proper jumps which aren't overrun with gapers or closed for the USASA every other weekend.

Have you been to Sugarloaf yet this year? The whole set ups pretty big in general but we do only have three jumps. I'd go to Waterville or Loon gladly but I'm in SCVA so it's not an option unless I have  a slopestyle comp.

for the record killy just barely took down mouse run (debatably the best early season rail park) two weeks ago... and just set up 40+ foot down bar after rail zone @ top of dreammaker..

if you want to actually shred good trails a little bit before the park loaf kills it. And haywire is mad fun.
But watervilles jump line is dope right now I heard it was like a 50ft, 60, to 75ft in a line. I thinks the biggest theyve ever had

Yeah that's what I like a lot about the parks at loaf, they don't have a dedicated lift so you have a chance for just some mellow cruising all the way down to Haywire or Stomping, and most parks as far as I know don't have this.

I've only ever been to Waterville Valley a couple of times, but going to the top lets you hit the medium park, and then make it to the Poma Lift and lap Exhibition.

Sounds kinda like Sugarloaf, only the two bigger parks are right next to each other but you can go from the rails in stomping to the jumps in Haywire.

Cranmore has a really solid fleet of rails, it's just whether they can put it all together and if there will be jumps worth hitting.


At the same time I wouldn't throw them in a thread about potential best parks in the east. To me a good park is well rounded between jumps rails, and solid settups of both.

Mount snow and loon have been 2 of my favorites for consistently killing it in new england for the last 5 years.
